In the Name of God Amen I Mary Pope of Staniol Green in the Parish of Dartford in County of Kent widow doth make this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say)

that after all my Just Debts and funeral Expences are paid it is my desire that all my Estates and Personal Property be turned into ready Money except my Plate and Cloaths

First it is my desire that the Sum of one hundred Pounds be paid to my Daughter Maria Pope as being the legacy left her by her Father William Pope

the Remainder and Residue of the Monies arising from Such sales to be divided equally share and share alike among my Seven Daughters viz Mary Staples Elizabeth Whitman Ann Currant Sophia Read Catherine Scrace Margaret Waghorn and Maria Pope

To my Grandson William Pope I give and bequeath one .... silver half pint
I give and bequeath to Mary Staples one Silver Punch Ladle Six plain Tea Spoons Steel Snuffers and Plated Stand two Silver Salt Spoons with a Pair of Glass Salt Sellers
I give and bequeath to my Daughter Sophia Read my Silk Gown and Coat with my blue Sattin Quilted Coat
To my Daughter Catherine Scrace three Silver table Spoons
To my Daughter Margaret Waghorne I give and bequeath three Table Spoons the remainder of my Cloaths with my bed and bedding and all as many as may be found in the House except Deeds bonds Leases Writings Money or my Plate

Likewise I leave Margaret Waghorn the Lease of the Farm as they now live on with Mr Egertonís Lease of the Bull fields with the two houses as is standing thereon to be there Whole Sole Property so that nobody can or shall have any claim there but the Landlord

I give and bequeath to my daughter Maria Pope the wrought Six tea Spoons Pair of Silver tea tongs and Silver cream jug

I do hereby make and appoint my two friends and Brothers Sole Executors viz Mr Jacob Pope Gent of Chichester in the County of Sussex and Mr Robert Castle of Uxbridge in the County of Middlesex
and my further Will is that it shall be lawful for my said Executors to pay and reimburse themselves out of my said Estate all such Costs damages and expences as they shall respectively sustain in and about the Execution of this my Will

And I do hereby renounce all former Wills as this being my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Mary Pope do put my hand and Seal this second day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Ninety four Mary Pope
