By the mercy and grace of God Ďm Jhesus Christe I Thomas Maxfeild Doctor in Divinitie an parsonne of Ashe in the Countie of Kente beinge in good estate of minde and memorie thancks be to god and waightinge thoroughe assured faithe for deliveraunce from Corruption synns and death to be translated to the blessed imortalitie righteousones and everlastinge life with God and his holie Anngelles thoroughe my onlie Saviour Jhesus Christe do make and ordaine this my finall will and testament in manner and forme followinge First faithfully belevinge my sinne full Soule to be washed and clensed in the blud of Jhesus Christe by the Spiritt of Sanctificacion I commende the same to Almightie God my Creator and my bodie to be buried in the upper ende of the Chauncell of the Church of Ashe aforesaid close to the Sowthe wall there
I give and bequeathe to the pooreste and most nedie people of the saide parrishe of Ashe Fortie shillinges to be bestowed by the Church wardens discreation

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Hodsoll Fortie shillings to make a goulde ringe of remembraunce
Item I give and bequeath unto all her children excepte Sara and Dorothie that shalbe livinge at my deathe Forty shillinges apeece

Item I give and bequeathe unto my sister Nicholsonne the some of Tenne poundes
Item I give unto everie one of my said sisters childrenne by her husband Nicholsonne that shalbe livinge at my deathe Fortie shillinges apeece excepte William to whome I give Five poundes

Item I give and bequeathe unto my cosen John Maxfeilde of London and to his wife eache of them a gould ringe of the value of two Aungells of goulde apeece

Item I give unto eache of my howsholde servauntes over and besides there wages five shilling apeece
All which severall somes of money aforesaide I will shalbe paide unto everie of the severall parties before mentioned within one yeare next and imediatlie after my decease

All the rest of my goodes and of --- plate jewell and all other goodes moveable and unmoveable of what nature and condition soever with the advowson of my benefice I give and bequeath unto Joane my wife payinge my debts and leagacies whome I make and ordaine my sole executrix of this my laste will and testament
Moreover and besides all my goodes and chattells and the rest before mentioned I give unto the said Joane my wife and to her heires forever my howse in Dartforde nowe in the teanure and occupation of William Hasellwood with all the edificies and landes thereunto belonginge in as lardge and ample manner as I bought the same of Richard Deathe
And allso all morgages Annuities and other estates whatsoever I do likewise give unto her and to her heires forever And for the quiet and more peaceable assuraunce of the giftes and leagacies aswell to my saide wife given and bequeathed as allso to all other the píties before mentioned I do herebie revoke and utterlie make voide all former wills and testamentes by me heretofore made whatsoever and acknowledg theise presente to be my irrevocable laste will and testamente and ordaine the same to stande in full force and effect to all intentes and purposes of my minde as is before rehersed?

finallie desieringe my brother John Walker of Fawlkeham and my brother Robert Walker of Horton to be my overseers of this my laste will and testament for the more due and faithfull execution of the same I give and bequeathe unto eache of them Tenne shillinges

In witnes whereof and in full confirmation of all before given and bequeathed I the saide Thomas Maxfeilde testator have written this my preasent laste will and testament with myne owne hande subscribed my name and putte my seale the fowrthe of October Anno Domini one thowsand six hundred and fower and in the yeare of the Raigne of oure Soveraigne Lord James by the grace of god of England Fraunce and Ireland Kinge the second and of Scotlande the thirtie seaven By me Thomas Maxfeilde Sealed subscribed and so confirmed in the preasence of me
