IN the NAME OF GOD AMEN Septimo February Anno Dmi l593 I James Matson of Shepherdswell being of good and perfecte memory do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following.
First I bequeath my soule unto the handes of Almighty God, my bodie to the ground and my goodes as followeth.
I will and bequeath unto my sonne Thomas Matson twentie pounds to be payed at
_________ ___________ ____________ ________ next after my decease.
Item I will unto my sonne Christopher Matson twentie pounds to be payed one yeare
after my sonne Thomas hathe his porcon due unto him.
Item. I will and bequeath unto my sonne John Matson tenne pounds to be payed two
yeares after my sonne Christopher hathe his porcon due him.
Item I will unto my sonne Robert Matson tenne pounds to be payed one year after my
son John hathe his porcon due unto him.
Item I will that if anie of my sonnes dye before they come to receive their porcons that them my surviving sonnes have the porcons of him so dying, equally divided among them.
Item I will unto my daughter Alice Matson tenne pounds to be payed unto her when
she comethe unto the age of one and twentie yeares if so long she live.
Item I will and bequeath unto my daughter Joane Matson tenne pounds to be payed
unto her when she comethe unto the age of one and twentie yeares if so long she live.
Item I will and bequeath unto my daughter Magery Matson tenne pounds to be payed
unto her when she comethe unto the age of one and twentie yeares if so long she live.
Item I will that if anie of my daughters dye before they come to receive their porcons that them my surviving daughters have the porcons of her so dying, equally divided among them.
Item The residue of my goodes, my debts and legacies discharged and my bodie _____ buryed, I will and bequeath unto my wife Alice Matson Whom? of this my last Will and Testament I make my sole Executor desiring my brother Mr Philpot of Folkstone of this my Will to be the Overseer.
