This is the last Will and Testament of me John Hobday of the parish of Barham in the County of Kent grocer First and principally I commend my soul to Almighty God who gave it And as touching my Worldly Estate I dispose of the same as follows

I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Sarah Hobday the rents and interest arising from all my Freehold and Leasehold Estates to hold the same for the benefit of her my said wife during the term of her natural life

And from and immediately after her decease I give and devise the same to my ten children as followeth Viz Mary Hodges the wife of Thomas Hodges, Sarah Hobday, Margaret Hobday, Elizabeth Stock the wife of Benjamin Draper Stock, John Hobday, Frances Hobday, William Hobday, Jane Colyer the wife of Charles Colyer, Richard Hobday and Edward Hobday to them and their respective heirs and assigns for ever as Tenants in common and not as joint tenants

Also I give and bequeath unto my wife aforesaid all my stock in trade my farming stock and utensils together with all my ready money securities for money household goods and furniture And all the rest residue and remainder of my Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what kind and quality soever the same may be for the use of her (and to be applied as she may think proper) my said wife during the term of her natural life

And after her decease to be equally divided between my ten children aforesaid share and share alike Those of my children to whom I have advanced money to account for the same on receiving their respective shares and my will is that all my just debts and legal expenses be paid And I do hereby constitute and appoint my said wife Sarah Hobday my son John Hobday and son in law Thomas Hodges Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set and subscribed my hand and seal this Twenty sixth day of May in the Year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty Three
