This is the last Will and Testament of me John Hobday of the parish of Barham in the County of Kent Cordwainer made this twenty sixth day of May in the Year of our Lord One thousand and seven hundred and Eighty seven in manner and form following (that is to say) First I desire my body may be decently and privately buried at the discretion of my executors herein after named

Also I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Caroline the sum of Fifty Pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid her by my Executors herein after named within six months next after my Decease

Also I give and devise all that my messuage or tenement with the stable yard Garden Backside Land Hereditaments and premises to the same belonging with the appurtenances situate lying being in the said parish of Barham and now or late in the tenure or occupation of Thomas Mills or his assigns unto my daughter Margaret Hobday her heirs and assigns to hold the same unto my said daughter her heirs and assigns for ever

And all that the rest residue and remainder of my monies securities for money Goods Chattels Rights credits and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever I give and bequeath unto my uncle Edward Hobday of Barham aforesaid Shopkeeper and John Cooper of the same place Butcher their Executors Administrators and Assigns Upon Trust that they my said trustees their Executors Administrators and Assigns shall and do as soon as conveniently may be after my decease after payment of all my just debts Funeral Expences and the Charges of proving this my last Will and Testament and other incident charges sell and convert into ready moneys all such part and parts thereof as shall not consist of monies or securities for money and shall and do call receive and get in all such part and parts thereof as consisting in Monies Securitys for Money and shall and do thereupon or with all convenient speed then afterwards lay out and invest the Monies arising by such sale or sales and to be called received and got in in manner last mentioned in one or more public Fund or Funds of this Kingdom or in any private Security or Securities which shall be approved of by my said Trustees and shall and will pay apply and dispose of the Interest Dividends and Proceeds arising therefrom for and towards the Support Maintenance and Education of my said daughter Margaret Hobday until she shall attain the age of one and twenty years and from and after my said daughter Margaret Hobday shall attain the said age of one and twenty years shall and will assign transfer and assure the said monies together with said security or securities for the same to and for the use and benefit of my said daughter Margaret her Executors and Administrators

Also I do Nominate and Appoint my said uncle Edward Hobday and John Cooper Guardians to my said daughter until she shall attain her full age of Twenty one years and Lastly I do nominate and appoint my said uncle Edward Hobday and the said John Cooper joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year abovesaid.
