This is the last Will and Testament of me George Green of Stockbury in the County of Kent Farmer First I will order and direct that all my just debts my Funeral Expences the Costs of proving this my will and other incidental charges shall be fully paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently may be after my decease
Also I do hereby make nominate constitute and appoint my dear wife Ann Green and my sons William Green and John Green Joint Executors of this my will

I give and bequeath unto my said son William Green and unto my friend William Dawson of Stockbury aforesaid farmer and the survivor of them and the executors and administrators of such survivor the sum of six thousand pounds of lawful money of Great Britain and Ireland Current in Great Britain upon Trust that they my said Trustees and the Survivor of them and the Executors and Administrators of such survivor do and shall with all convenient speed after my decease lay out and invest the said sum of six thousand pounds so given and bequeathed to them as aforesaid in their names or in the name of the survivor of them or the Executors or Administrators of such survivor in some or one of the Publick Stocks or Funds of this Kingdom or in Government or Real Security or Securities and do and shall when the same shall be so invested pay and apply the dividends Interest and annual produce thereof unto and for the maintenance benefit and Education of my twelve children the said William Green the said John Green Elizabeth Green Ann Green Richard Green Jane Green Sarah Green Jesse Green Robert Green Henry Green Mary Green and Frances Green until they shall severally attain the age of twenty one years or twenty four years at the discretion of my said Trustees or the survivor of them or the Executors or Administrators of such survivor and from and immediately after my said children any or either of them shall have attained the said age of twenty one years or twenty four years as aforesaid Then upon Trust to pay transfer or assign one twelve part or share of the stocks Funds or Securities in and upon which the said Sum of six thousand pounds shall be so invested as aforesaid and of the dividends or Interest and proceed that shall or may be then due thereon unto each of my said children as shall have attained the said age his her or their Executors Administrators and assigns absolutely

but if it shall happen that any or either of my said children shall die under the said age then upon trust to pay transfer or assign the part or share parts or shares of him her or them so dying unto the other or others of them living to attain the said age his her or their respective executors administrators and assigns in equal parts shares and proportions

Also I give and bequeath unto my said Trustees and the survivor of them and the Executors and Administrators of such survivor all the Rest and Residue of my Goods Chattels Stock and husbandry Tackle Cattle Monies Securities for Money and all other my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever not herein before given and bequeathed upon Trust that they my said trustees and the survivor of them and the Executors and Administrators of such survivor do and shall employ and apply my said Goods Chattels Stock and husbandry Tackle Cattle and Farming Utensils as thereinafter expressed and also do and shall as soon as conveniently may be after my decease call receive and get in such other part or parts of the said residue of my said Personal Estate as shall consist of Monies or Securities for Money and do and shall lay out and invest the said Monies so received and got in as aforesaid and every part thereof except so much thereof as shall be requisite and necessary for the management and carrying on the farming Business which I now use as herein after mentioned in their names or in the name of the survivor in some or one of the Publick Stocks or Funds of this Kingdom or in Government or Real Security or Securities and do and shall when the same shall be so invested as aforesaid pay and apply the dividends Interest and annual produce thereof as the same shall become due and payable unto my said wife Ann Green or her assigns or permit and suffer her or them to have receive and take the same to her and their own use and benefit for and during the term of her natural life if she shall so long continue my widow sole and unmarried but not otherwise and from and immediately after the decease or second marriage of my said wife as aforesaid which shall first happen then upon Trust to pay transfer or assign the said stocks Funds and Securities in and upon which the said last mentioned Monies shall be laid out and invested as aforesaid and every part thereof and the dividends Interest and annual proceeds that shall or may be then due thereon unto and equally between and amongst all and every my said children in equal parts shares and proportions such of them as shall be then Minors and under the age hereinbefore mentioned to be paid to them as and when they shall severally attain their said ages of twenty one years or twenty four years and the dividends Interest and proceed of the respective shares of such of them as shall be Minors as aforesaid to be paid and applied in the Meantime for and towards their maintenance and education or otherwise for the benefit of my said children at the discretion of my said Trustees or the surivor of them or the Executors and Adm’ors of such survivor but if it shall happen that any or either of my said children shall die under the said ages as aforesaid then upon Trust to pay transfer or assign the part or share parts or shares of him her or them so dying unto the other or others of them so living to attain the said age his her or their respective Executors Administrators and assigns in equal parts shares and proportions

and it is my will and mind and I do hereby order and direct that during the natural life of my said wife Ann Green if she shall so long continue my widow sole and unmarried but not otherwise and also during the Minority of the youngest of my said children the Farming Business in which I am now engaged shall be carried on and managed by my said wife Ann Green and my said Trustees and the survivor of them my said Trustees and the executors and Adm’ors of such survivor and that for that purpose the Goods Chattels Stock and Husbandry Tackle Cattle and Farming Utensils of every sort and kind now belonging to me and used in and about the said Farming Business or any part thereof shall be used and employed therein by them in managing the said farming Business and also if my said wife and Trustees or she and the survivor of them my said Trustees or the Executors or Administrators of such survivor shall think fit so much and such parts of the Monies so to be invested by my said Trustees and got in as aforesaid shall be used and employed therein for the better maintenance benefit and support of her my said wife during her natural life if unmarried but not otherwise and also for the more effectual maintaining Educating and bringing up my said children each and every of them until the youngest of them shall have attained the said age of twenty one years or twenty four years but in the event of my said wife marrying again in that case it is my will and mind that she shall have nothing to do with the management and carrying on my said Farming Business as aforesaid or the profets benefit and produce thereof but shall be wholly extended therefrom and in that case the same shall be carried on and managed as aforesaid by my said Trustees and the survivor of them and the Executors and Administrators of such survivor for the benefit of my said children as aforesaid and from and immediately after the decease of my said wife or her marrying again as aforesaid then I direct my said Trustees and the survivor of them and the Executors and Administrators of such survivor in case the youngest of my said children shall have attained the said age of twenty one years or twenty four years and if not then immediately after? my said youngest child does attain? the said age to sell dispose of and convert into Money all my said Goods Chattels Stock and Husbandry Tackle Cattle and Farming Utensils of every sort and kind and all other the said Residue of my Personal estate and Effects and do and shall pay assign transfer and divide the said Trust Monies and Premises unto between and amongst all my said children in equal parts shares and proportions provided always and I do hereby expressly declare that my said executors and Trustees or any or other of them their any or either of their Executors or Administrators shall not be charged or chargeable with or accountable for any more of the aforesaid Monies Effects and Premises than they any or either of them actually receive or shall come to their any or either of their hands by virtue of this my will nor with or for any loss which shall happen of the said Monies and Premises so as such loss happen without their wilful default nor the one of them for the other of them but each of them for his own Acts Deeds receipts defaults and disbursements only and that it shall and may be lawful for them by and out of the said Trust Monies and premises to deduct to and reimburse him and thenselves respectively all such loss costs charges and expences as he or they shall sustain expend or be put unto for or by reason of the performance of this my will or the Trusts hereby in them reposed or the management and execution thereof respectively or any other matter Cause or thing whatsoever in any wise relating thereunto

and lastly I do hereby revoke annull and make void all former and other wills by me made and declare this only to be and contain and last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said George Green the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament contained in five sheets of paper set my hand and seal (to wit) my hand at the bottom of the four sheets thereof and my hand and seal to this Fifth and last sheet this twelfth day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and two – Geo Green – Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the said George Green the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses

This Will was proved at London the eighteenth day of May in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and two before the Worshipful Samuel Pearce Parson Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Honourable Sir William Wynne Knight also Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oaths of Ann Green widow the Relict and William Green the son of the deceased and two of the Executors named in the said will to whom Administration of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased was granted having been first sworn duly to administer -- power reserved to John Green the son also of the deceased and the other Executor when he shall apply for the same.
