In the Name of God Amen the Eighteenth day of September in the Thirtieth Yeare of the Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles the Second by the Grace of God King of England Scotland France and Ireland defender of the Faith and in the yeare of our Lord one Thousand Six Hundred Seventy and Eight
I Dorothy Garford of Ditton in the County of Kent widdow being weake in body but of sound and perfect memory (Blessed be God for the same Doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner following (vizt)
Imprimis I surrender my soule into the hands of Almighty God my maker Trusting onely in the meritts and mediation of my onely Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and assuredly hopeing for salvation thereof And my Body I recommend unto the Earth to be well and decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named
And as touching the disposition of all my goods named And as touching the disposition of all my goods Chattells and Personall Estate whatsoever I give and dispose thereof as followeth (Vizt)

Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my brother Will: Boutler’s Three Children William John and Jane Tenn pound a peece To be paid within Twelve month after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto my sister Elizabeth Esher Forty pounds to be put in my Brother Browne’s hands To be paid her when he shall think fitt
Item I give and bequeath unto my Cousen Joane Walsingham Forty pounds of good and lawfull money of England to be paid within Twelve moneth after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto my Cousen Elizabeth Browne Forty pounds of good and lawfull money of England to be paid within Twelve moneth after my decease
Item I give and bequeath unto my Brother John Tomlin of Ditton one Coulte which was both of .... Twisden
Item I give unto George Massered Fife pounds of good and lawfull money of England To be paid within Twelve moneth after my decease

Item I give unto Dorothy Hordly my Goddaughter Thirty pounds of good and lawfull money of England To be paid when she shall attain to the age of one and Twenty yeares
Item I give unto my brother William Esher One yeare’s Rent which is Twelfe pounds which is now behinde
Item I give unto the pore of East Malten now Ditton Forty shillings not to be paid to them that take ames But them that be widdowes and very pore peppell

Item all the rest of my goods and cattells whatsoever or of what nature kind or Condition the same may be my debts Legacies and Funeral Expences being first paid and discharged I give and bequeath unto William Brown my loving brother who I doe make and Ordaine Sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament

In Witnes whereof I have to this my present last Will conteyning one sheete of paper sett my hand and seale the day and yeare First above written/ the marke of Doroty Garford/ Read signed sealed and published as my last will and Testament in the presence of
