This is the last Will and Testament of me William Denne of the City of Canterbury, Gentleman.
First I desire to be decently buried in my family vault at Chislet in the County of Kent as near the remains of my late dear wife as possible and I do hereby make nominate and appoint my two sons David Denne and Thomas Denne the joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament. And as for such worldly estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me I give devise and dispose thereof as followeth.

First I give and devise unto and to the use of my said son David Denne and to his heirs and assigns for ever all that farm ? or called or known by the name of the Hatch Farm consisting of a barn, oast and several pieces or parcels of land arable pasture and wood containing by estimation thirty six acres more or less with their and every of their appertuances situate lying and being in the Borough of Hoath and in the several parishes of Reculver and Chislet in the said County of Kent and now in the occupation of my said son David Denne or his assigns or undertenants and also all those two several pieces or parcels of marshland containing by estimation ten acres more or less with the appertuances situate lying and being at or near ? Row in the Parish of Chislet aforesaid in the said County of Kent now in the occupation of my said son David Denne or his assigns or undertenants and also all those four several messuages tenements or cottages with the gardens and appertuances thereunto belonging situate lying and being in the said Parish of Chislet and now or late in the several tenures or occupation of ? ?, ? Fox, ? Barton and ? Dove or some or one of them their or some or one of their assigns or one of their undertenants.

Also I give and devise unto and to the use of my said son Thomas Denne and to his heirs and assigns for ever all that messuage tenement or cottage with the garden and appertuances thereunto all belonging situate lying and being at or near May Street in the said Parish of Reculver and now or late in the tenure or occupation of James ? or his assigns or undertenants.
Also I give and bequeath unto my said son Thomas Denne the sum of one thousand and five hundred pounds ? per cent ? Bank Annuities part of the stock standing in my name in that fund in the Books of the ? Company of the Bank of England.

Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary the use and occupation of my present dwelling house with the fixtures and appertuances thereunto belonging until she shall marry and from and immediately afterwards or in case of her dying single then I give and devise my said dwelling house with the fixtures and appertuances thereunto belonging unto and to the use of my said son Thomas Denne his heirs and assigns.
Also I give and bequeath unto my said daughter Mary Denne all the furniture plate ? and china in about or of belonging to my dwelling house to and for her own use and benefit. Also I give and bequeath unto my said daughter Mary all the interest on any monies in the Bank of England which are standing in my name and that shall become due on the Lady Day or Michaelmas Day next after my decease to and for her own use and benefit.

Also I give and bequeath to my nephew Thomas Denne of Grove Hill in the said County of Kent, Esquire, Thomas Wood of Chislet Court in the said County, Gentleman the sum of two thousand pounds due and owing from my said son David Denne upon bond together with the bond whereby the same is ? to be paid with interest unto and upon trust that they my said trustees and the survivor of them his executors administrators and assigns shall and so yearly and every year during the life of my said daughter Mary Day or ? to be paid all the dividends interest and produce thereof into her proper hands to and for her own sole and separate use and benefit thereof into her proper hands to and for her own sole and separate use and benefit. And my will is that any husband or husbands with whom she may happen to marry shall not ? therewith neither shall the same be subject or liable to his ? debts or engagements and the receipt of my said daughter signed with her own proper hand shall be a good and sufficient discharge for so much of the dividends interest and produce as shall be therein acknowledged or expressed to be ? and from and immediately after the decease of my said daughter Mary ? upon trust that they my said trustees and the survivor of them his executors administrators and assigns shall and so pay and apply or assign and transfer the said sum of two thousand pounds ? and amongst all and every the child and children of my said daughter Mary equally to be divided between them if more than one share and share alike and if there shall be but one such child then to such only child and the same shall be paid and applied assigned and transferred unto such child or children at their respective ages of twenty one years and if any of such children shall depart this life under that age without leaving a child or children then the share or shares of him her or them so dying shall go and be paid to the survivors or survivor of them at such time as his or her original share or shares shall also become payable which share or shares shall also survive together with the original share or shares until such original share or shares shall also become payable but if any of the children of my said daughter shall die under the age of twenty one years leaving a child or children then such child or children shall take his her or their father or mothers share or shares as well original as ?

And upon further trust that they my said trustees and the survivor of them his executors administrators and assigns shall and so in the meantime after the decease of my said daughter in the event of her leaving children pay and apply all the dividends interest and produce of the said sum of two thousand pounds for and towards the maintenance and duration of such children until their respective shares and in the same manner in case such child or children shall have a child or children and in case shall be no child or children of my said daughter living at her decease or any children or issue of such child or children then upon trust for my said two sons David Denne and Thomas Denne equally to be divided between them share and share alike and to their several and respective executors administrators and assigns provided and always and my will is that if the said sum of two thousand pounds shall be ? or paid off by my said son David Denne his executors administrators or assigns during the ? of the trusts hereby declared containing the same or any of them then and in such case they my said trustees or the survivor of them his executors administrators or assigns do and shall lay out the money thereby arising or ? to their or his hands or hand in the public stocks or funds or on Parliamentary Security at interest and do and shall or stand and be possessed thereof upon and for such trusts intents and purposes and with and subject to such powers provisos or ? as are herebefore mentioned touching or ? the said sum of two thousand pounds.

Also I give and bequeath unto my said son David Denne his executors administrators and assigns all that my leasehold estate lands hereditaments and premises with the appertuances situate lying and being in the Parish of Chislet aforesaid in the said County of Kent late in the occupation of me the said William Denne and ? Holness(?) and now of the said David Denne and ? Holness(?) which leasehold premises were given and bequeathed to me in and by the last Will and Testament of my late sister Mary Vandepeer deceased to hold the same unto my said son David Denne his executors administrators and assigns to and for his and their own use and benefit.

Also I give and bequeath unto my said daughter Mary the sum of one thousand and five hundred pounds three? ? Consolidated bank Annuities residue of the stock standing in my name in that fund in the Book of the Governor and Company of the Bank of England.

Also I give devise and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my messuages lands tenements hereditaments and real estate and of my goods chattels ready money securities for money and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever subject nevertheless to the payment of my just debts funeral expenses and the charges and expenses of proving this my will unto my said two sons David Denne and Thomas Denne equally to be divided between them share and share alike and to their several and respective heirs executors and administrators by and out of all or any of the monies which by virtue of this my will or any trust therein declared shall come to their hands to ? retain to and reimburse themselves all such reasonable costs charges and expenses as they respectively shall or may sustain expend or be put unto in or about the execution of this my will and also that they my said trustees and executors their respective heirs executors and administrators shall be charged and chargeable with or for any sum or sums of money other than such as shall actually and respectively come to his and their own respective receipts payments acts and wilful defaults and not otherwise and shall not be charged or chargeable with or for any sum or sums of money other than such as shall actually and respectively come to his and their hands by virtue of this my will nor with or for any loss or damage which may happen in or about the execution of all or any of the trusts hereby in them ? without his or respective wilful defaults.

And lastly hereby revoking all former wills by me made I declare this only to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I the said William Denne the Testator have to the three first sheets of this my last Will and Testament in four sheets of paper contained set my hand and to this fourth and last sheet thereof my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of November in the forty eighth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, King Defender of the Faith and in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and seven. William Denne. Signed sealed published and declared by the said William Denne the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses.
