66. Robert Barkley AMES was born about 1768 in Voluntown twp, New London County, Connecticut.524 He died in Jan 1813 in Livonia, Livingston, New York [Ontario Co before 1821]. He had his estate probated in 1828 in Livingston County, New York.525,526 Robert Barkley AMES and Elizabeth MOSHER were married about 1782. They appeared in the census in 1810 in Livonia, Livingston, New York [Ontario Co before 1821].527

67. Elizabeth MOSHER was born about 1770. She lived Geauga Co OH in Geauga County, Ohio in 1828.528 MOSIER name attributed based on two items:
ELIAKIM file, JER Collection, [my page 59], Sept 1904 note of interview with Tamer THAYER: "grand mother was Elizabeth MOSHER, lived and mother was b in CT", and brother's John & Cyrus were born and died in CT.

A son of Elizabeth, Mosier AMES, came to Geauga Co in 1815. I chose that spelling for his mother's name because that seemed more credible than Tamer's memory; she thought Robert Barkley AMES was "Roswell". Children were:

Daniel AMES was born about 1790. He appeared in the census in 1820 in Claridon Twp, Geauga, Ohio.529 He lived Claridon, Geauga Co OH in Claridon Twp, Geauga, Ohio in 1828.530 He appeared in the census in 1830 in Claridon Twp, Geauga, Ohio.531

Betsy AMES was born in Jan 1795. She lived Burlington, Geauga Co OH in Geauga County, Ohio in 1825.532

Mosher AMES was born on 8 May 1800. He lived Geauga Co OH in Geauga County, Ohio in 1828.535 He was a witness to a Property transfer in Livingston Co NY in 1828 in Geauga County, Ohio.
from Livingston Co NY deed records: [these were supplemental to similar deeds signed by family members in Livingston county in 1826, deeding property to BRONSON.]

7 Mar 1828, L5, p657: "Elizabeth Pease (late Elizabeth Ames) of Geauga Co, Ohio" sold to Horace W. Bronson for $163 in the township of Livonia "bounded north by the townline, east by land of Elnathan Bronson, south by land of Arthur Price, west by land of Edmund Bosley, containing 50 acres."

7 Mar 1828, L5, p658: Daniel Ames and Rebecca, his wife, of Claridon, Geauga Co, Ohio, sold to Horace W. Bronson 50 acres in the NW corner of Livonia Lot #2 [same boundaries as above] for $30.

Information on the descendants of Mosher AMES Sr is from a FGS provided by David A AMES, Cleveland, Ohio. Many dates are not known, or questionable — do not agree with data in the AMES family reunion notes.

All persons having claims against the estate of Moshure Ames, late of Claridon, deceased, are requested to present them legally proven, within one year from this date for settlement, and all persons indebted to said estate are requested to make immediate payment.

Mosher (Mosier) Ames was the son of Robert B and Elizabeth Mosher Ames. He and wife, Mary "Polly" Wilkins were early settlers in Claridon. Mosher and Polly had sons Rueben, Elisha, Mosier + David and daughters Amy Stafford, Eunice Fletcher, Sarah Mastick, Elizabeth Houghtaling, Mary Work + Rosetta Work. His siblings in Geauga Co were Amea Ames Ransom, Daniel Ames and Emeline Ames Elliott Stanton. Mosher and Mary Ames are buried in the East Claridon Cemetery.

Roswell AMES was born in 1802. He lived Livonia NY in Livonia Station, Livingston, New York in 1827.536

Marian AMES was born about 1806 in Ontario County, New York. She lived Geneseo NY in Geneseo, Livingston, New York in 1828.537
