Ebenezer Cemetery is considered the area’s original French pioneers’ cemetery.
By the early 1830’s it was being used as a cemetery by non-French area residents such as
the John Bell family who owned the surrounding land.  In 1838 the land was purchased by
the Druhot family and its patriarch, Frederic Druhot, was the first of the French community
to be interred in 1841.
The cemetery is located at the top of a small hill on Sardinia/Mowrystown Road
southwest of Mowrystown.  Parking is somewhat difficult.
Many, many headstones are broken and/or missing.
