I believe we should all share our information on the Rose Family. I have been to England to the archives checking records and doing what ever I can to trace my family. I would like to share all of this with others.

My gg'grandfather was:
 James Rose
b April 3 1814 Hampshire Portsmouth England m Annette Donneley James was with the Ashford Loco Works then with the Furness Railway as Supt.

Edwin b January 11 1842 m May 30 1868 Holy Trinity Church Whitehaven England Elizabeth Jones. d May 30 1924 age 83. Elizabeth Jones b June 21 1845 d April 5 1922 Interred in family plot in Whitehaven Cemetery. Edwin and Elizabeth are my great grandparents. They lived at a house called Victoria Villa Whitehaven. Edwin replaced his father as supt. of the railway after his father retired in 1864. Edwin developed an axle that stopped the trains from derailing.

Henry George b 1852 Willesborough m Feb 14 1876 Mary Eleanor Jones sister to Elizabeth which was my g'grandmother Engine Fitter Willesborough Works. Mary Eleanor Jones died Nov 26th at age 40 in 1887 at Carlisle Asylum. Henry George and Mary Eleanor had a daughter Lavinia.Henry George remarried after Mary’s passing to a Margaret MaCray on Oct 9 1897 in Christ Church Whitehaven England.

Now the follow up through this line from my g'grandfather Edwin Rose.

Edwin Rose b Jan 11 1842 m May 30th 1868 Holy Trinity Church Whitehaven to Elizabeth Jones b June 21 1845 d April 5 1922 d May 30th 1924

Annita Eleanor b September 10, 1868 d Feb 27 1933 spinster interred in family plot Whitehaven Cemetery

George Edwin James b 1871 in Kent county Shipping agent interred in Whitehaven Cemetery but not in family plot memorial reads husband of Beatrice Harry Sydney January 1871 d May 7 1873, first to be interred in family plot Whitehaven Cemetery

Frank Ernest b July 15 1873 m Oct 31 1899 in Chester England to Ada Horsfall served in the Boar War left England with a young son and wife to Jamaica. From there they went to Panama Canal. Frank worked as an engineer on the railway. They left Panama around 1914 and came to Canada, with two more children. Frank and Ada

Charles Ernest Rose b Aug 6 1900 Chester England m Margaret Dalgleish Charles died 1986

Edwin Rose b March 11 1906 and will celebrate his 95th birthday with us next week.

Kathleen Rose b June 23 1908 and d Nov 4 1975. My mother.

Frank left Canada and went to Sao Paulo Brazil, to find work. He sent letters and money, then they just stopped. We have no trace of him, which has sparked all of my research.

Charles then had a son Robert Charles who lives currently in British Columbia Canada. He is the last of the Rose family that we know of.

Arthur Vivian b 1876 Ethel Louisa spinster b 1878 d March 17 1957 the last of the family to be interred in family plot

Edwin b 1880 served in the merchant marines postal service. Was a prisoner of war. Went to California for a while after the war, then we believe he may have gone to Australia. Still searching for his information.

Guy Septinumus b 1882 electrical engineer no further information
