I am very pleased to report that 25 people attended our Canberra Mini Reunion and that it was a huge success. The family of the late Alan Mould from Kingaroy were all there and enjoyed meeting their southern cousins. A number of researchers gave an interesting presentation on the history of G.Y. Mould. There was a large display of genealogy and memorabilia including the Australian Family Tree, the English Family Tree and an incredible number of old photos and family information. A lot of new photos and information came to light. Thank you all for making this a successful get together.

I received a copy of the Mould reunion invitation today from my son in Cooma (Mark Rixon). I can't possibly make it to Canberra on the weekend as my daughter and husband have just added another branch to the "tree". Do you have the copy of the 'tree' which dad (Reginald George Mould) began and I think Ian Mould (dec.) may have added to? I can forward that to you if you need it. Are you Ron's son? If so we would have met at some time or other at Nimmitabel. If you have a look at
www.firstfamilies2001.com.au you will see a few "Mould" entries. Anyway, I am available for research etc. if you need me. I like organising events too. I now live in Central Victoria, which is a loooooong way from Cooma. I know there is a Dianne Mould in Toorak, Melbourne as I have seen some of her art in a gallery in Queenscliffe. She is on the tree but I can't remember where at the moment. Have fun, hope to hear from you soon Pattrick. Nola

Morning Cousin Nola,

Sorry you can't make it to Canberra, I will put in your apologies, certainly hope to see you in Cooma in 2002. Can you send me your mail address please, so that I can put you on the list? I would appreciate you sending in the reply to the 2002 reunion, I have attached a copy in case Mark didn't attach it all. Yes I do have the copy of the 'tree' which your dad (Reginald George Mould) began and Ian Mould (Dec) added to thank you. I have been trying to update it for many years now, your Dad only entered the names, we need all the dates and places etc. I wish I could get hold of your fathers research notes? I knew your father and mother quite well; they came to Middlingbank a lot to see my Grandparents and Merle. Yes I am Ron's son, but couldn't tell you if we have met around Nimmitabel, I have been very sick and have a very bad memory. I couldn't open www.firstfamilies2001.com.au I will try again later; the URL is familiar to me. I have done a lot of research, you will see a lot at the MOULD site below, be sure to check the newsletter, and I will put you on the list that I send to when I put a new Newsletter up. I am very pleased to hear you are available for research etc. I do need your help. I would like to talk about researching Perkins Paper's. I have done a lot of it but there is still a lot to do. Please get involved in the organisation of the reunion, Central Victoria is a lot closer to COOMA than where I am! What areas of the reunion would you like to be involved in? If you can chase up an address on Dianne Mould in Toorak I would be grateful. I am leaving for Canberra on Friday morning and not coming back for a month, so you probably won't hear from me for a while. I look forward to hearing from you, Regards, Pattrick Mould,
From:
Nola Orval To: Pattrick Mould Sent: Thursday, September 28,
Good to hear from you Pattrickage and most of all I was never, ever going to be a grandmother. However, since "arriving" at the fifties I have decided I want to remain this age for the rest of my time. Yes I can help with anything you need help with. I can do research, as I just love finding 'things' out. I think the Internet is just the most wonderful pool of information. Also I am very good at organising. I may have given you the wrong URL I will check it out again. Deborah Timms has some of her family tree on First Families and she has done a lot of research. We met on the Net. She is dad's, sister's granddaughter. I will tell her about the reunion. I thought it was next year! Have a great time in Canberra with all those other Mouldy people. Catch you later, Nola.

Pattrick writes; Hi again, Yes I am around your age, 06.12.1946. And quite enjoying it, no grandkids yet, next year I hope. I have plenty of research for you to do, have you been involved in any mailing list on the internet, you may be interested in monitoring the MOULD mailing list at: http://lists.rootsweb.com/ while I am away. Seeing as you didn't volunteer any specific preference to jobs for the 2002 Committee, I will just give you all the difficult ones - no, after our meeting on Sunday I will do a report to all the family via the net, and we can proceed from there. Did you get to have a look at our website?

I had the odd nightmare about snakes at Kybeyan myself as you can imagine. Sorry I don't have much time to chat at the moment, have to leave for Canberra in the morning and still have about 20 hours work to do! Will talk when I get back. Regards, Pattrick Mould,

Hi Debbie, Well done, be good if you could report this to the committee meeting, I think Marion had volunteered to look after photos, so she should be told exactly what is there. Pattrick

RE: MOULD FAMILY REUNION, COOMA, FEBRUARY 2002

Dear Mould Cousins,

I hope you will take the time to read this letter.

A number of family members have attended a few meetings with the purpose of holding a Family Reunion. The organising is going ahead in leaps and bounds, but we need help and registrations from as many family members as possible. If you and your family intend to come along please let us know as soon as you can by filling in the attached registration form.

The Venue:

As the majority of the people interested at this stage are from the George Yonge Mould family, it has been a general consensus of those interested that Cooma would be the best place to hold a reunion. Primarily, so that everyone attending would have the opportunity to visit places of historical interest i.e. George Yonge Mould’s grave in Cooma, the house ruins and graves of other members of the family at Boconoc, and other historical sites such as the Churches at Adaminaby and Cooma. The date and venue chosen are the Cooma RSL, Fri 15th - Sun 17th Feb 2002.

Could you help?

Could you please help us update our addresses, genealogy and photographic libraries so that we can put on the best display possible? Our first priority is to put together a comprehensive mailing list of as many family members as possible. I have attached a list of the names and addresses of the family members we have been able to put together so far, we are missing complete families, so we need all the help we can get. We also need to update the family tree and gather more photos and memorabilia, so that we can put together a comprehensive display at the reunion. I would be grateful if you would consider helping us out by sending as much information as you can. More information in regard to these items is attached

I look forward to hearing from you in the near future, please help if you can.

Yours Sincerely

Pattrick Mould

FOR THE REUNION TO BE A SUCCESS WE NEED THE

FOLLOWING INFORMATION AND MATERIALS

Names and Addresses

Our first priority is to put together a comprehensive list of as many family members as possible. I have attached a list of the names and addresses of the family members we have been able to put together so far. You can no doubt see how incomplete this list is, we are missing complete families, so we need all the help we can get in this area, as soon as possible please. As a starting point, I have the following names but no addresses: Nancy Curry, Joan Mould, Gladys Mould, George Alpen, Margaret Doyle, Jennifer Harrison. PLEASE HELP.

Genealogy/Family Trees

Before we hold the reunion we need to update the family tree, so that we can display a comprehensive tree on the day. We also intend to publish a book for the reunion, this would contain all the family history we can put together at this stage. Please contribute if you can.

The information we need includes the names, date and place and any other details you have about all the births, marriages, deaths of your family members, especially of your own family, and if possible of your sisters, brothers, parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. (If you have this information on a computer, a disc would be great, alternatively if you have a genealogy program a ‘Gedcom file’ would be even better).

Family History/Biographies

A number of people have sent me essays/notes about their family history. I would be very grateful if you would consider doing the same. I will be happy to receive material that is typed, handwritten, taped etc. If you would prefer to be interviewed let me know.

This information could include:

articles passed to you from other family members,

your story,

the story of your children,

recollections about your childhood,

memories of your parents and grand parents,

details of where you family have lived,

a story about a prominent family member,

Or something I haven’t thought of.

Historical Family Material

Photographs Marion Mould 02 6452 1057, is coordinating this venture.

Any photographs you can lend us of members of the first five generations in Australia would be greatly appreciated. We would get negatives made and get them back to you as soon as possible. If you don’t feel comfortably with lending us your photos that’s okay, would it be possible for you to get negatives made for us? We intend to use Theo Schoo of Schoo’s Studio in Cooma to reproduce all the photos, so you can leave originals with him to make the negatives. Any photos of family groups of living members are most welcome to, but we have to watch the expenditure so we would appreciate you getting the negatives done, where possible.

Other Memorabilia:

I am aware that there is a lot of memorabilia out there (bibles, books, original portraits, paintings of homes, cutlery, crockery, copies of birth and marriage certificates etc It would be great to be able to display it all at the gathering. If you could let us know what you could bring along, that will allow us to organise space and cabinets etc for display purposes. Also, if we can list some of this material it will encourage people to come and have a look, so as to ensure a more successful weekend

Establishing a Committee and Helpers

Would you please give serious consideration to being involved and helping us put this gathering together. Your skills are needed. We need people to be on the committees and take responsibility for the following areas: Program, Venue, Invitations and Correspondence, Reception/Name-tags, Advertising, Meals, Accommodation, Photographs and Memorabilia, Genealogy and Family History, PA System, Data Entry, Displays, Historical Tour, Master of Ceremonies, Coordination with the Monaro Family History Group and the Historical Society and more. You don’t need to live in the Cooma District to do these jobs. And we also need helpers to assist those with these responsibilities. Can you help? Please drop me a line, phone or email me as soon as you can.

If anybody were in a position to help us with the data entry, we would be very grateful.

Yours Sincerely

Pattrick Mould
