Jacob Mould  c.1800 London
From Lucille Gordon lgordon1@nyc.rr.com

I have been in touch before asking for information.  I am not a Mould, but I am the biographer of  Jacob Wrey Mould, an English architect who was a well known architect.
May I contribute what little information I have about his family?  It may help someone else find family and perhaps help locate more about this Mould family.

Jacob Mould  b? London
occupation merchant   spent several years in Ghana as one of the Royal Company of Traders to Africa (ugh) 179?-1807?
married Mary Ann Oakley of London m. date unkn
son Jacob Wrey Mould b. 1825  London  (parish St. Giles in the Fields)
d. 1841 Cork, Ireland  where the family had lived for some period of time

Jacob Wrey Mould (architect) m. Emily Ann(ie?) Davis (Davies?)m. date unkn.

daughter Alice b. 1852? 1853? possibly earlier
went to New York 1853
d. 1886 New York

Alice Mould m. Thomas Hood Robson 1881
then living in Tredigar Square, London
emigrated to Canada  date?
d 1896  Vancouver, B.C. Canada  age then given on death certificate as ca. 42

I cannot trace the relationship but a descendent , Alice Knight-Murray, second marriage surname Murray?, lived in the Sechel, B.C. area until 1996 when it is presumed she died. Alice Murray was a local artist who knew of her ancestors Jacob and J. Wrey Mould.  Mrs. Knight-Murray was interviewed in 1988 by a local paper and also spoke with a Jacob Wrey Mould scholar (architectural historian) in that same period. Mrs. Knight Murray was probably  a gggrandaughter of J. Wrey Mould.

I hope this sketch is useable.

Sincerely,
Lucille Gordon
New York City
