Hi Pattrick,
I lived at Kybeyan from 1955 to 1957 with Bill & Barbara Keevers, Jack, Ray
and Lloyd Green are my uncles and they all worked at Kybeyan. Lloyd worked for
your family until he moved to Wollongong. I am related to Eric Green and family.
My grandfather Percy was Ernie Green's brother.
I use to go to the catholic school at Nimmitabel at that time on the bus with
you. I move to Bega after that with my mother and in 1957 went to a school in
Sydney. I continued to come to Kybeyan in the August and May holidays and would
see you guys on the train coming to Nimmitabel.
The people I remember on the bus was yourself, the Roses, the Dunnings
Moffats Scarletts and the Hains. I have kept in touch with Bill Keevers over the
years and he and Barbara were like a second family to me.
Jack Green died in Bemboka last year my uncle and I met Billy Green for the
first time in about 40 years. Never had a lot to do with the Green family from
Kybeyan except Horace in Bemboka over the years Barbara Keevers and I have
communicated by letters and has always kept me up to date with all the people
around Kybeyan including the Green family.
I am coming down this weekend (reunion) so will
look forward to catching up with the Kybeyan people. You have done a good job
with the Web page. Good on you. I have fond memories of Kybeyan and it gave me a
love of the bush. Never have been a really fully blooded city person so those
times have always been special to me.
Regards David Green
