rn ab. 1810-1815 in MO perhaps in Calloway.  He married Hannah (?) no date for marriage.  Their children were Jeremiah Dixon, Elizabeth T., General P. William S., Clark Jefferson and Delay A..  We think all the children were born in Missouri.

Jeremiah Dixon Ray stayed in Missouri until abt. 1870-1875 then moved to Oklahoma where he stayed until his death. He was first married to Nancy Jeanetta Baker in 1869 then Edna Mae Hopper, third marriage to Mary Cook and last to Mayme Warneke.  The last two marriages were in Oklahoma.

Isadore was born in 1884 in Russia and died in Florida in 1969. Fanny was born in 1894 in Poland and died in 1987 in Florida. They had five children of which, of course, my mother was one.
RAYMO , Phillip City of St. Louis
RAYMOND Emmet and Priscilla Raymond, who lived in St.Louis or Springfield in the 1880's.  Their son LeRoy was born in Missouri in 1887;
I believe that Emmet's parents (James and Elizabeth Bromley Raymond) lived in Springfield then too; Elizabeth is rumored to have died in Springfield in the late 1800's--possibly late 1880's.  Emmet and Priscilla lived in St. Louis in 1900, but I haven't found them in either city prior to the 1900 census.  James remains a mystery.

REINBERG Looking for family of Omah Leota REINBERG.  She was born in 1 May 1882 in Missouri (supposedly Kansas City).  Federal census records indicate Omah's parents were born in Indiana.  She married Walter William WALKER in 1899 in Brainerd, MN.  They had two children, Earl and Norma.  Omah and Walter divorced in 1911.  About 1915-16 Omah and the children moved to the Indianapolis, IN area.  Omah died on 30 August 1919 after spending three years in a state hospital.  There were REINBERGs in the area during this time period.  I have not been able to connet any of them to Omah.  Can anyone help??
I also know there were REINBERGs in Missouri from the late 1870s thru late 1880s.  May have been part of Omah's family.  Have not been able to make any connections.

ROBERTS, D. W.
was living in Bevier, Macon County, MO in 1880 according to the census.
His children were:
1. Rachel (who is said to have died as a teenager and is buried in perhaps the Oakwood Cemetery, if there is one named that.
2. Elizabeth,
3. William D,
4. Evan F.,
5. Martha,
6. Jane (Jennie) born 26 March 1875 in Bevier, Macon County, MO.

Professor D.W. ROBERTS was born in Wales, lived in Ohio, and for a little while, Bevier, Macon Co. MO. By 1889 he had moved to Mahaska County, Iowa (Givin, Iowa I believe).

After living in Mahaska County for a while he moved to Polk County, Iowa where he passed away.

I do know that he was quite active in the Welsh Eisteddfods in Iowa and he seemed to well known in many places from family lore.

Here are the only two items that I have about him:

ROBERTs, --Word was received in the city this morning of the death of Professor David ROBERTS, a former well known resident of Oskaloosa. The old gentleman died at the Methodist Hospital of pneumonia, after an illness of only six days. The funeral will take place at Des Moines Sunday.

The wife preceded him to the other side by only a couple months. A family of about six children survive the aged parents. Professor ROBERTS was a native of Wales. He came to this country and for years was engaged in coal mining at the coal camps near the city. He was for years located in the Welsh colony at Givin. In his declining years he gained a livlihood in this city by conducting a retail oil delivery. He and his wife removed to Des Moines about four years ago to be nearer relatives. Professor ROBERTS, as he was known by everyone, was perhaps one of the best known. He was a singing master and chorus director of wide repute and was himself a singer of considerable ability. he had the rare power of interpretation of party and chorus music and his knowledge of direction was little less than remarkable. The old gentleman was in his element in the work of the EISTEDDFOD when it was at its height in this city.

He was one of its staunchest reporters and hardest workers. He has won many large prizes for superior chorus work and he has received unstinted praise from the loftiest critics in the country.

David ROBERTS did a world of good in his time and he merits a rich reward. His death will cause deepest regret among hundreds of Oskaloosa friends. Rev. Lloyd WILLIAMS of this city goes to Des Moines Saturday morning to conduct the funeral and interment.

12 January 1899 David ROBERTS to-day received a copy of the Uruguay News Letter of November 27, 1898 sent him by Col. SWALM at Monte Video. It is the first paper from that country which we have seen that is printed in English, and barring the grammar and spelling, it is a creditable publication. Mr.SWALM, wanting to make sure that Mr. ROBERTS would receive the paper added to the address "the man who sings"

Is there anyone else researching this ROBERTS family?

RUCKER, James Leonard  Born in Butler County, Butler, Missouri in 1882  (per my mother's birth certificate, no date given)

Parents were killed in an auto accident and he was made an orphan at a young age, around 10 to 15.  He was taken in by a local family that lived on a farm, nearby. Don't know if he had any other siblings.

Lost his left arm in a farming accident while working out in the fields alone.  He was about 20 years old then.

He married Viola (nee Walters) Wells (born in Lebo, Kansas) and she had two boys, Claude and Ralph, Jr. from Ralph Wells in Oklahoma.  I don't know what happened to her first husband.

James was listed as being 37 and Viola 33 when my mother, Evelyn Ruth was born.  She was their firstborn, October 19,1919. They lived at 1807 Belleview Avenue, Kansas City, MO. Later they had Goldwyn Sylvania and Atla Jean.   All are shown living on Campbell Street in the 1930 Census, except for Claude.

The coldwater flat on Campbell street was across the street from Hamilton Elem. School and they went to the Manual Training High School on 12th St.

James worked as a morse code operator for the telegraph company and later worked as a wallpaper hanger.  Loved his Kansas City baseball games and attended all home games.

Viola and the girls moved to San Diego, CA around 1939/1940.  Claude had left to join the US Navy at age 15 (both parents signed) and Ralph stayed behind to work at the Kansas City Star newspaper.  Do not know what year James died.
