MACRANDER John Macrander, b. 1819 in Wetzlar am Lahn, Rhineland Province, Kingdom of Prussia (now called Wetzlar, Hesse, Germany) and wife Sarah Frances (Arthur)  Macrander arrived in Atchison Co., MO in 1860 3 1/2 mi. SE of present village of Westboro to settle 80 ac. purchased when they were residents of Woodford Co., IL near Metamora. In Illinois, John began farming and continued his
earlier occupation as tanner and glovemaker. The couple first lived in a log cabin on the hilly Missouri woodlands, later erecting a house of saw mill lumber in which to shelter their growing family. They had lived the previous year, 1859, with Sarah's relatives in Buchanan Co., south of St. Joseph after arriving from Illinois in a large group consisting of Sarah's father Eli Arthur of VA, wife Frances West (or Hackworth) Arthur, other grown children of Eli and Frances Arthur and their own families. The Arthur families lived near Sparta and Taos cross road while others of the Arthur and related families lived in the South St. Josph community along King Hill Road within view of the St. Joseph Stock Yards during their peak operational years. Prior  to moving to Woodford Co., IL the Arthur families and John Macrander who was single at the time, had lived in Roanoke Co., VA (1850 census). A nephew of
John Macrander, John Albert Macrander moved to Davies Co., MO from Boone Co., KY and Roanoke Co., VA before that following the Civil War, and began farming in the vicinity of Pattonsburg, MO. He was the son of Dr. Johann Friedrich Jacob Macrander, Medical Doctor of Big Lick, Roanoke Co., VA. (Now in the City of Roanoke, VA). Dr. Macrander was the older brother of John Macrander later of Atchison Co., MO. John had lived with the doctor's family  in his household near Big Lick in the 1850s and worked at the trade of glovemaker in a neighborhood tannery. Dr. Jacob Macrander was said to be the first medical
doctor in Big Lick, VA.

Saw your posting for family research on Fritz and Mattie Martin  Osceola, Missouri.
Fritz and Mattie Martin are buried in the Roscoe Cemetery.  I’am looking for a
anything on this family, as I believe that Mattie (Martha Ellen Morrow) Martin is
a sister to my grandmother Mary Catherine Morrow Ryan.  Parents of Mattie
and Mary Catherine are Richard and Sally Morrow.  1880 Census this family is
in Bowling Green, Ky. and 1900 Richard and Sally Morrow are living with
Mattie and Fritz Martin in Sherman Township, Creighton Village, Cass Missouri.
The 1900 census as the Morrow name as ?ARROW but very plain on original.
And in 1900 my grandmother is in Vernon Missouri.  Maybe we can connect
some missing links for this family.

D. 22 Nov 1980, Springfield, Greene County, Missouri

Children: Thomas William .Wilson ,Margie, Vesper, Bernadine, Ruby, Ana Mae, Hubert, Dolly, Nixa, Rosemary

MARTIN, Tyree Tyree Martin NICHOLS b. 1829 in MO, married Caroline CRUMP in 1848 and died at the end of the Civil War - 1865.  I cannot find who his parents were.  The oldest
NICHOLS family (Abner) came to MO from KY with the Tyree MARTIN family in the early 1800's.  None of Aber NICHOLS children were named Tyree Martin NICHOLS, nor were any of his grandchildren. I am wondering if there was another branch of NICHOLS that traveled out to MO this early and knew Tyree MARTIN.

MECKLENBURG, Moritz (Morris) C 1865-1915) - he is thought to have 2nd married around 1905 maybe in Kansas City, Mo to Mrs. Sarah E. Kreider, who had children by a prior marriage.  (Could someone verify this marriage data and place?)  I have a photo of them taken around 1905, with their address at that time 1304 Central Avenue, Kansas City, MO.  (Does anyone have access to early Kansas City city directories which might confirm their residence there, plus how long they were in
Kansas City, and what his occupation was at the time?)  He had 1st married in 1894 in Davenport, Lincoln County, WA to Eve O. The 1870 Mo census doesn't seem to have any of the
right Meredith/Merideth families in it, so checked
the Arkansas 1870. found several families, but
none in Sevier nor Green co seemed to work. Found
a 42 year old female E. C.Merideth [b abt
1828,]living in Green Co, Muricane Twp with Joseph
J. Harlan (?) family born in KY . Thomas's mother,
would have been born well before 1828.

The 1880 census for Prairie TW, Franklin Co MO
Shows Martha Meredith living with her son-in-law
John Wiley and daughter Elizabeth. I am
specullating that Elizabeth is Thomas's sister and
Martha his mother.

The 1880 Franklin Co MO census shows both of
Thomas's parents born in Kentucky and he in
Missouri. It indicates that his wife, Mary

listed were all born in Missouri. Listed as below:

MERIDETH
MERIDETH
The family is in Benton Township of Osage County on the very last page. Although the page is a little difficult to read it is as follows:

line 23, Merideth, Mrs. J., white female, age 21-45; able to read and write
line 24, Merideth, H.C., white male, age 10-18; able to read and write
line 25, Merideth, Annie, white female, age 10-18; able to read and write
line 26, Merideth, Grant, white male, age 10-18; able to read and write
line 27, Merideth, Sarah, white female, age 10-18; able to read and write
line 28, Merideth, Victor, white male, age 10-18;
line 29, Merideth, Joseph, white male, age under 10;
line 30, Merideth, Fred, white male, age under 10
line 31, Merideth, Benj. white male, age under 10

Notes:
Ancestry.com has H.C. indexed as H.L. Merideth
Ancestry.com has Grant indexed as Gurst Merideth
Victor is a most interesting case:
1870 name is listed as James or Jane V, female
1876 name is listed as Victor, male
1880 name is listed as Victoria, female
Victor or Victoria falls in birth order on all three census records. So is he a male or is she a female? Unfortunately I haven't found any record for Victor or Victoria post 1880.

Albert G. Meredith, husband and father, to above family is not mentioned in this census. On the 1880 census there is another child, George Meredith, age 2 (born c1878). So, where is Albert?
MERIDITH, Thomas born 19 Dec 1842 in Gasconade County, MO.  Served in Co. F 31 Mo Infantry and had enlisted at Douglas Prairie .  Married on 11 Nov 1869 to Juramyra E. Graham (born Mariah Elizabeth Graham) in Gasconade, MO.  Their two oldest children were John J.
Meridith born 10/8/1871 and Henry, W.L. Meridith born 5/4/1874.  I have assumed that the second child was born in Gasconade County.  The family moved to Randolph County, ARK sometime in 1874 until 1886, then to Boone County, ARK until 1889 and then to Indian Territory (Westville until around 1903 and finally to Grove, OK)  He died in 1908 and is buried in Olympus Cemetery near
Grove, OK.  I am looking for any information on this family and any other family members.  Other children born to Thomas and Mariah are Charles H. Meridith, Mary E. Meridith, James Lester Meridith and Martha Ann Meridith.

Kentucky before 1836 and married Armilda Green in 1854.  They eventually moved to Missouri and settled in Moberly, Mo. in Randoph County.  They had 5 children, Phillip W., Ope John, Hattie, Mattie and Ev.  David served in the Civil War and survived.  I can find death certificates for Armilda, Phillip W. and Ope John, (he was my grandfather).  However nothing on David F.  I was told he taught school at one time and died before his wife, Armilda.

Searching for Millers in Osage County who were slaveowners.  My great great grandfather was Collin Miller and was brought here from Virginia.  I don't know if he was sold here or if the Miller family migrated here from Virgnia.  His son, Leander Miller was born in 1844 supposedly in Linn Missouri.  I have checked the slave schedules but the ages don't add up
MILLER, Cely Ann Counties: MERCER, GRUNDY, SULLIVAN, DAVIESS, JASPER
MILLER, Frederick French my great grandfather's father.  My great  grandfather was Seth Miller who was eventually Mayor of Pasadena, CA in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Frederick may or may not have married Seth's mother, I haven't been able to confirm that.  I only know that  Frederick's daughter from a previous marriage was Virginia Maskow, and Frederick was found living with Virginia and her husband, Francis Maskow, and their children in the 1900 and 1910 censuses.  Seth and his mother, Louisa Ehe Riehl Miller, were listed in the 1900 and 1910 censuses as well.  Both Frederick and Louisa were in St. Louis, but not living together, and neither of them stated that they were divorced, but stated they were widowed or a widower and  stated their first marriages in years.  I found the St. Louis Post-Dispatch obituary notice for Frederick French Miller dated July 23rd, 1912, and the burial permit was published on July 25th, 1912.  I had originally thought that Frederick had died when Seth was young (based on a biography of Seth Miller in "The History of Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley" Vol. II, 1930 Edition), but that's obviously not the case.
