HUNTING TOWER

Home.htm

This is a general view from the Hunting Tower overlooking Chatsworth House and Edensor Village

Here is a better view of Edensor, Note the graveyard to the left of the Church where the Devonshires are buried

Here is the said Hunting Tower, Built in 1560 and in pretty good condition considering the weather it gets up here

A closer look

Once at the top of the hill we get some delightful walks like this

In the woods on this hilltop are two lakes which power the water features in the gardens, this saucer shaped rock is the beginning of the long journey down

This viaduct is halfway down the hillside below the previous image

Just to put things in perspective

Here is the Emperor Lake which feeds the Emperor Fountain

And this is the Emperor Fountain, fed entirely by natural water pressure from the lake, It is the second highest natural fountain in the world and was created for the coming visit of Zsar Nicholas II who unfortunately met a sticky end before he saw it.
