Dave Morris & Zack Allen The Will of William A. Morris As quoted in The Allens of Cribbs Creek, Burnsville Township, Anson County, North Carolina. By Reva Nance Carpenter and Virginia Nance McKee. In the name of God, Amen: I, William A. Morris of the county of Anson and state of North Carolina, being of sound mind and memory thanks to God for the same and calling to mind the uncertainty of life and certainty of death do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows:

WILL OF JOHN MORRIS DECEASED In the name of
the Benevolent Father of All: I John Morris of Athens Township
Harrison County Ohio do make and publish this my last will and
testament. Item 1st It is my will that my just debts be paid out
of my es tate. Item 2nd I devise and bequeath to my beloved wife
Elizabeth Morris in lieu of her dower, the farm on which we now
reside situate in Athens Township Harrison County Ohio containing
one hundred and seventy six acres, during her natural life At the
death of my said wife I devise and bequeath the real estate
aforesaid to my following named children to wit: Alonzo Morris,
John O Morris, Thomas M Morris, Mary A Morris, Morgan Morris, and
Sarah J Morris and their heirs respectively. Any of my said
children who are now indebted to me and any of my said children
who may hereafter become to me shall be required to account for
the same in the distribution of my estate and said indebtedness
shall operate as a lien upon said debtors share of the real est a
te above mentioned until paid, or said share shall stand charged
with the payment of said indebtedness All my personal property
that maybe subject to administration shall be converted into
money, and said money distributed equally among my children above
mentioned after my debts are paid. Item 3 The undivided two
thirds part of the farm I purchased of John Dunlap Jr situate in
Athens Township Harrison County Ohio, and the one upon which my
son Alonzo now resides containing eighty four and three fourths a
cres I devise and bequeath to my son James Morris and the
remaining undivided one third part of said farm to my son William
Morris, subject to the payment of such sum of money as my sister
Hannah may need for her natural life for her care and support, an
d subject also to the payment of one hundred dollars to my
daughter Margaret at my decease Said sums and amounts shall
constitute a charge upon said farm or real estate. My son James
shall pay two thirds of said sums and amounts and my son William
shall p ay the remaining one third. Item 4 I do hereby nominate
and appoint executor of this my last will and testament hereby
authorizing and impowering him to compromise, adjust, release and
discharge in such manner as deem proper the debts and claims due
me. I do also authorize \par and empower if it shall become
necessary in order to pay my debts, to sell by private sale, or
in such manner upon such terms of credit or otherwise as may
think proper, all or any part of my real estate and deeds to
purchasers to execute acknowledge and deliver in fee simple. In
testimony hereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 25th
day of October in the year 1893 John Morris Signed and

The State of Ohio, Harrison County SS Personally appeared in open
court John E. Cannon and John H. Estep who being first duly sworn
to testify the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth
in revelation to the execution of the last will and testament of
John Morris deceased, depose and say: That they were present at
the execution of the instrument of writing now before them
bearing date the 25th day of October 1893 purporting to be the
last will and testament of John Morris, deceased, that they
respectfully subscribed their names thereto as witnesses at the
request of said testator and in his presence; that they saw said
testator sign said instrument at the end thereof, and he and him
acknowledge the same to be his will and that said John Morris at
the time of executing the same was of full age, and of sound mind
and memory, and not under any restraint John E. Cannon John H.
Estep Sworn to before me and signed in my presence by said
witnesses in open court this 24th day of January 1894 (Amon)
Lemmon Probate Judge In the matter of the last will and testament
of John Morris, deceased. Probate court January 24, 1894. An
instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and
testament of John Morris late of Harrison County in the State of
Ohio, deceased was this day presented in this court and
application for the probate thereof was filed and all the next of
kin having waived notice and entered their appearance, thereupon
came John E. Cannon and John H. Estep, the subscribing witnesses
to said will, who in open court, on oath each testified to the
due execution of said will, which testimony was reduced to
writing and was signed by said witnesses, and it appearing by
said testimony that said will was duly executed and attested. And
the said John Morris at the time he executed said will was of
full age, of sound mind and memory, and not under any restraint.
It is by the court ordered that said will be and is hereby
admitted to probate and that said will and testimony be recorded
