Bitschwiller Factories - October 1998
| The Olanie's worked at The Stehelin factory in Bitschwiller as modeleurs. The factory has closed but the site houses many small firms today |
| The River Thur borders the village and supplied energy to the factories. A canal just to our right directed the flow of the river to a waterwheel at the factory site |
Just off the Rue de la Chapelle is a tissage factory built around 1830. Possibly this is where Therese Rebischung worked before she married Felix Olanie in 1861 |
