They had 9 children. Sam J. Owens, bornNov.19,1904,west of Hedley,Tx,married Cassie Geneva Bell,born Oct 9,1904,in Oneville,Bell Co,Tx. They had 8 children,
and Merle Owens,born Nov 23,1939,married Betty Jane Clendennen,born Nov 30,1937,in Ft.Worth,Tx. on April 19,1958. They had 3 children,2 girls and one son,Cody Ray Owens,born Jan 8,1964,who married Cynthia Lynn Puckett Moore (adopted by Jerry Moore)on Sept 17,1988. Cindy and Cody have 3 children,one girl and 2 boys.
On the Maternal side,the Clendennens go back to Channer Tinsley Crawford who married Essie Lou Price,born Feb 28,1902,in Upshur Co,Tx.
Channer and Essie had Mildred Lee Crawford,who married Woodrow Clendennen.They had Betty Jane Clendennen, who married Merle Owens. Woodrow traces back to James Monroe Clendennen,born 1831,Missouri,died about 1904 in Robertson Co,Tx. A funny coincidence:with the introduction of the Price line,there were 2 Price girls who were 3rd cousins.Essie Lou Price married into the Crawford line,which became Clendennen,then Owens. The other was Mary Maude Price Moore.When Cody Ray Owens married Cynthia Lynn Puckett Moore,a daughter by adoption of Jerry Moore,the two lines came back together,making for some very interesting Genealogy.Our grandchildren are also our 5th cousins,twice removed, through Cody Owens and Jerry Moore's lines,because Mary Maude Price Moore and Cody Ray Owens are 3rd cousins 3 times removed. Their common ancestors are William Price and Rebecca Tillery,and Essie Lou Price Crawford and Jerry Lynn Moore are 3rd cousins 2 times removed. Their common ancestors are William Price and Rebecca Tillery.
