John Anthony Monroe born May 24, 1819 in Robeson Ct. North Carolina. The fourth child and third son of Duncan Munroe and Nancy Tedder.

 

John's parents along with his three sisters, three brothers and Peter Munroe left North Carolina in the early part of the 1830's to settle in Talladega Ct. Alabama near Sylacauga. 

The family ran a farm while Duncan was listed on the census as a Tailor it is believed that in fact he was a practicing Tailor

There are many many descendants of  John Anthony. He migrated to Louisiana after the War Between The States, his descendants live from Louisiana, Texas, California,  New Mexico, Utah and Alabama including anywhere in between today.
