Duncan and Nancy were the parents to 7 children. Born between 1813 and 1831, in NC. Before 1840 this couple and their seven children migrated to Talladega Ct. Alabama near Brownsville. Hatchett Creek Presbyterian Church played a large part in their lives.
In the 1850 Census, Duncan and his family lived in Alabama where he was listed as a Tailor. The Munroe's lived on Little Hatchett creek on the other side of Midway Schoolhouse. Its a little creek that crosses the road, that goes up the hill. The Munroe's settled up that way. The Carmichael place is close to the Hatchett Creek. However this creek winds around all in this area. The little Hatchett creek flows into the Hatchett Creek. According to Mira Carmichael, the Munroe's lived about two or three miles back up this creek. Someday DeAnn and I will go and walk it, just to see if we can possibly find where they actually lived.
