A List of Parish records available on this Website and at The Gwent record office.

Below are parish churches listed A – Y for the county of Monmouthshire, A or M after the parish name specifies if it is ancient or modern. Then the date of records available at the records office, if the date is Italic, then these records are on film or fiche. The dates in Bold are parish record transcripts that I have on my website or are about to be transcribed. B means I have Bishops Transcripts as well for this parish, * means that this modern parish has a burial ground.

Ancient means they are the established parish churches that date beyond the middle ages to the coming of the Normans and probably beyond.

Modern means parish churches built in towns and villages post 1832 to accommodate the growth in population. These parish churches fall within ancient parishes, i.e Abertillery falls with in Aberystruth parish. So if you are researching someone before modern parish churches were established. Then you need to look in the ancient parish church records, unless your family were non-conformists.

Note; The last yearly date could be baptisms, marriages or burials and not all 3 set of records.
