            In the name of God I William Roberts late of the parish of Landenny in the County of Monmouth yeoman, being aged and infirm but of sound and disposing mind and understanding do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner following (that is to say) I give devise and bequeath all those pieces or parcels of pasture land called the Meadow situate and being in the parish of Lanishen in the said County of Monmouth with the appurtenances and now or late in the tenure of Charles George together with all my other goods chattles personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever situated and whereof I have any right of disposal unto my relation Mary Poiskins of the village of Ragland in the said County of Monmouth spinster her heirs executors administrators and assigns for ever whom I nominate constitute and appoint sole executrix and residuary legatee of this my last will and testament.  In witness whereof I the said testator William Roberts have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety four.  The mark of William Roberts.

 

            Signed sealed published and declared by the said testator William Roberts as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses to the due executions hereof.  Edward Jones;  John Harris;  Eliz Parry

 

            We George Harris Doctor of Laws Vicar General and official principal of the Right Reverend Father in God Richard by divine permission Lord Bishop of Landaff lawfully constituted do by these presents make known unto all men that upon the eighth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & ninety five at Landaff before the Reverend Benjamin Hall, Clerk BD, Surrogate lawfully appointed the last will and testament of William Roberts late of the parish of Landenny in the County of Monmouth and Diocese of Landaff deceased (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed) was proved in common form and administration of all and singular the goods chattles and credits of the said deceased was granted and committed to Mary Poiskins spinster the sole executrix therein named who was first on the holy Evangelists personally sworn well and faithfully to execute the same by paying the debts then the legacies in the said will mentioned as far as the goods chattles and credits will thereunto extend and the law require.  And also to make and exhibit into the Registry of the Consistory Court of Landaff a true & perfect inventory of all and singular the said goods chattles and credits of the said deceased together with an account of her said administration thereof when thereunto lawfully required.  Given under our seal of office the day month & year above written.   Edward Pearson, Reg
