            This is the last Will and Testament of me William Prosser of the parish of Ragland in the County of Monmouth yeoman.  I give and bequeath unto my son John Prosser the sum of one hundred pounds.  I give and bequeath unto Thomas Jeffryes of the parish of Ragland aforesaid farmer and my son John Prosser their executors administrators and assigns the sum of five hundred pounds apiece?. Trust nevertheless to permit and suffer the said Thomas Jeffryes and Elizabeth his wife to receive and take the interest thereof for and during the term of their natural lives and the life of the longest liver of them.  And from and after the decease of the survivor of them …? …? trust that they my said trustees do and shall pay the said sum of five hundred pounds unto and equally between my two grandchildren William Prosser and Ann Thomas the wife of Herbert Thomas of the parish of Tregail in the County of Monmouth aforesaid farmer their executors administrators and assigns for ever but my will and meaning are that the share of the said sum of five hundred pounds I have given and bequeathed unto the said Ann Thomas is given to her for her sole separate use and benefit and that her receipt alone shall be a sufficient discharge notwithstanding her present or any future coverture? and that her present nor any future husband shall intermeddle therewith neither shall the same be subject to his control …? or …? I give and bequeath unto John Howells a son of my said son John Prosser the sum of one hundred pounds but upon a Note of hand from Mr Herbert Harris his brother and late father should the same be …? by  my executors hereinafter named but not otherwise?.  And all the rest and residue of my personal estate and effects I give equally between my said son John Prosser and the said Thomas Jeffryes their executors administrators and assigns for ever.  I also give and devise all estates lands and hereditaments of what nature or kind soever now …? in …? by way of mortgage unto the said John Prosser and Thomas Jeffryes and their heirs …? trust and to and for the intent and purpose that they the said John Prosser and Thomas Jeffryes or the survivor of them or the heirs and assigns of such survivor shall …? the same respectively …? the principal monies and interest severally due and to …? due on such mortgages respectively.  And I do hereby nominate and appoint the said John Prosser and Thomas Jeffryes executors of this my last Will and Testament.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand seal this nineteenth day of April one thousand eight hundred and twenty six.  William Prosser (LS).

            Signed sealed published and declared by the said testator William Prosser as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses.  W.A.             Proved at London 27th April 1827 before the Judge by the oaths of John Prosser the son and Thomas Jeffreys (in the Will written Jeffryes) the executors to whom admon was granted having been first sworn (by Comon) duly to administer
