            This is the last Will and Testament of me William Pritchard in the parish of Grosmont and in the County of Monmouth labourer.  I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Margaret Browne wife to William Browne publican in the parish of Langattock Lingoed and in the said County of Monmouth one sixth part of the money or monies which after my decease may be standing in my name in the Old Bank, Abergavenny and I also give her the said Margaret Browne one article of furniture namely a carved oaken chest.  I will and bequeath unto my grandson William Browne son to the said William Browne and Margaret his wife my watch as a special token of my love.  I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Christopher wife to John Christopher in Nantygloe in the aforesaid County of Monmouth haulier one sixth part of the money or monies which after my decease may be standing in my name in the Old Bank, Abergavenny and I also give her the said Mary Christopher one article of furniture namely one oaken table.  I give will and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Watkins wife to Lewis Watkins both of whom are now living with me two thirds of the money or monies which after my decease may be standing in my name in the Old Bank, Abergavenny.  I give and bequeath unto my grand daughter Mary Ann Watkins daughter to the said Lewis Watkins and Sarah his wife one article of furniture the chest as a special token of my love.  And as to the rest and residue and remainder of my furniture and effects of what nature or kind soever …? …? disposed of I give devise and bequeath the …? and every part thereof unto my daughter the said Sarah Watkins wife to the said Lewis Watkins I direct that the cost of a grave stone which is to be erected to my memory and that of my wife and also all funeral and testamentary expences shall and will be paid by the said Margaret Browne, Mary Christopher and Sarah Watkins and that each of them shall pay an equal share of the expences incurred by my decease and I do hereby revoke all former or other Wills by me at any time made.  I hereby nominate constitute and appoint Mrs Nicholas wife to Mr William Nicholas of F…? farmer to be the sole executrix for …? into effect this my last Will and Testament revoking and making void all other Wills and Testaments by me and declaring this to be my only last Will and Testament.  In witness whereof I the said William Pritchard have hereunto set my hand this 28th day of June 1855 five.  William Pritchard.  Signed my me for the testator in his presence and by his direction.  Edward McCormick, witness;  Edward McCormick;  Mary Nicholas

 

            In the goods of William Pritchard deceased.

            Appeared personally Edward McCormick of Caerwent in the County of Monmouth , Land Surveyor, and made oath that he is one of the subscribed witnesses to the last Will and Testament of William Pritchard late of the parish of Grosmont in the County of Monmouth labourer deceased which will bears date the twenty eighth day of June one thousand eight hundred and fifty five and id now hereunto annexed and be further made oath that on the twenty eighth day of June aforesaid the deponent …? the name William Prichard at the foot or end of the said Will in the presence and by the direction of the deceased and also in the presence of Mary Nicholas (wife of William Nicholas) the other subscribed witness thereto and …? …? thereafter in the like presence of the deceased and of the said Mary Nicholas also memorandum now appearing opposite to the said name and being in the following words to wit ‘Signed by us for the testator in his presence and by his direction and signed the same and that thereupon the deponent and the said Mary Nicholas subscribed their names two? names  beneath the name William Pritchard in the presence of the deceased and of each other whereupon the deponent in the presence of the deceased and of the said Mary Nicholas made a …? to the …? …? …? the witnesses wrote the word Witnesses opposite the …? …? …? appear in the presence of the deceased and of the said Mary Nicholas and he lastly made oath that the word five appearing written after the figures 1855 the date of the said Will was as written before the aforesaid …? …? the said Will.  Edward McCormick.  On the ninth day of February one thousand eight hundred and fifty six the said Edward McCormick was duly sworn to the truth of this affidavit by virtue of the annexed Commission.  Before me William Henry Tevyning?, Commissioner.

 

            Proved at London 10th February 1856 before the Judge by the oath of Mary Nicholas (wife of William Nicholas) the sole executrix to whom admon was granted having been first sworn by Comon duly to administer.
