This is the last Will and Testament
of William Jones of Lanwinny Farm in the parish of Langoven in the
County of Monmouth, bearing date this sixth day of July one thousand eight
hundred and forty six.

named, and I will, order and direct that they shall give, pay and apply the
interests, profits and dividends unto my dear wife Mary during the term
of her natural life. And after the
death of my said wife, and after my own death, I further will, order and direct
that my said trustees shall as soon as possible, and convenient to them turn
and convert into money the whole of my said property, and after all my just
debts and funeral expences are paid my money shall be divided into two equal
parts. And I further will, order, and
direct that the one part of my said money shall be equally divided between my
brother John Jones (or his heirs) my brother Thomas Jones (or his
heirs) and my sister Fanny Jones the wife of Edward Jones of
Lanishen (or her heirs). And I order
and direct that they shall share and share alike in the one said part. The other part of my said money I will,
order, and direct shall be equally divided between the following named relations
of my wife: that is to say between Mrs Mary
Pritchard of the Pentry Farm, Lansoy (or her heirs) her son John
Pritchard (or his heirs) and Mary Charles the wife of Edward
Charles of Langibby (or her heirs).
And I order and direct that they shall share and share alike in the

It is my particular wish that the
cottage and land in Lanishen (which is paid acknowledgement for) may become the
property of my brother John (or his heir) but I will and direct that
whenever my brother John (or his heir) shall take possession of the same
the sum of five pounds shall immediately be paid to my niece Abigal Jones for
her care and kindness towards me and my wife.
I leave my brother John Jones
and Mr Stephen Prosser of Lanvair Farm, Lanishen, the executors and
trustees of this my Will.
In witness whereof I have hereunto
set my hand the day and year above written.
