Thomas Williams of Llangoven.

In the name of God Amen I Thomas Williams of the parish of Llangoven in the County of Monmouth yeoman being sick in body but of sound minde and understanding through the mercy of God, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following: First and principally I resign my soul into the hands of Almighty God my creator, humbly hoping for a blessed immortality & through the merits and mediation of my blessed saviour and redeemer Jesus Christ, and my body I desire may be decently buried in the Chancell of the parish church of Llangoven and as for such estate real and personal as the Lord in his great goodness and mercy hath intrusted me with, I give devise and dispose thereof as followeth.

Imp’mis I order the sum of ten pounds ten shillings and six pence which my brother law Wm Lawrence is bound with me for shall be paid by my brother Walter Williams to Wm Roberts? of Talavan?. Also I order that fifteen pounds be paid unto Mr Richard Hughes mercer in Monmouth. Also I order that the said Walter Williams shall pay the sum of twenty pounds which I owe upon bond unto Mr Wm Badam of Chepstow baker. Item I give and bequeath to Mary the daughter of my brother law Robert Williams of Chepstow ten shillings and ten shillings a piece to his daughter Elizabeth and his son William all to be paid them within three years after my decease by my said brother Walter Williams. I give unto Elizabeth the daughter of my brother law Wm Lawrence the sum of ten shillings to be paid her within the term of three years as above expressed. I give to my sister Blanch Williams spinster the sum of five shillings, and to my sister Mary Robince? the sum of five shillings, and five shillings to my sister Susan Williams, to be paid them within the above said term. I also order the sum of eleven shillings to be paid unto Wm Watkins of the Warren, for the just payments of all above specefied and my other debets I give and bequeath all that my estate scituate lying and being in the parish of Cumcarvan and the parish of Llangoven commonly called and known by the name of the Pentre unto my well beloved brother Walter Williams with all my personal estate of what nature or kind whatsoever whom I nominate and appoint whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament revoking and disannulling any other will by me at any time made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 22nd day of November in the year of our Lord 1741. Thomas Williams
