This is the last Will and Testament
of me Thomas John of the Town of Monmouth in the County of Monmouth,
labourer. I hereby give and bequeath
unto Jessie the wife of Benjamin Horner of the town of Monmouth,
innkeeper, the sum of sixty pounds secured by a mortgage on the Brook Eastate
in the parish of Monmouth for her sole and separate use free from marital
control. I give and bequeath unto Thomas
Evans son of John Evans of Wyesham the sum of ten pounds. I give and bequeath to John Evans
another son of John Evans of Wyesham the sum of five pounds. I give and bequeath to Nancey Probert
of the parish of Mitcjhel Troy, widow, the sum of two pounds. I give and devise all the residue of my real
and personalk estate unto the said Jessie Horner absolutely for fer sole
and separate use free from marital contract.
I appoint the said Benjamin Horner sole executor of this my
Will. I devise all trust estates vested
in me to the said Benjamin Horner absolutely subject to the equities
affecting the same. In witness whereof
I have hereto set my hand this eighth day of April one thousand eight hundred
and eighty.

John by affixing his mark thereto as and for his last Will and testament in
the presence of us present at the same time who at his request in his presence
and in the presence of each other has hereto subscribed our names as witnesses
the same having been previously read over to the said testator who appeared to

Proved at Llandaff on the 20th
day of October 1880 by the oath of Benjamin Horner the sole executor to
whom administration was granted.
The testator Thomas John was
late of the Town of Monmouth in the County of Monmouth, labourer, and died on
the thirtieth day of August 1880 at the Rope Makers Arms, Monmouth, aforesaid.
