This is the
last Will and Testament
of me Sarah Shayle
of the town of Monmouth spinster to whereby I
dispose of my
worldly estate and effects in manner following that is to
say whereas I
am entitled in right of my late mother Margaret
Shayle deceased to one equal undivided third part
of one equal undivided
sixth part of
and in several messuages Lands with their Rights
members and
appurts situate in the tithing of Colford in the parish of
Newland in the
county of Gloucester and also to one undivided third part
of one full and
equal undivided fifth part of one other divided sixth part of
and in the same
premises to the first sixth part of whereas my said
mother was
entitled as one of the co-heiresses of James Rudge and to
2/ the said
undivided fifth part of whatever sixth part as one of the coheiresses
of Frances James
deceased late sister and all which parts and shares are
?ted to be sold
to Richard ?? of the said tithing of Colford yeoman
George Prosser
of the town of Colford carpenter William James late of
the said town
of Colford yeoman deceased John Dow late of the same
Town spinner
for the whole sum of one thousand one hundred and thirty
nine pounds out
of which I am entitled to my share in the proportion
before
mentioned and whereas I am entitled to a share as aforesaid
of a certain
estate late of my great uncle William Dow deceased sold to
Lord Gage
or to a share of the purchase money and I am also entitled
to other sums
of money the product of the property of my said late
mother left to
her by the said William Dow?? do hereby give devise
and bequeath
unto my father William Shayle of the said town of Monmouth
iron monger and
to his heirs executors and assigns all and singular
my said parts
or shares right title and Interest whatsoever either in
possession
reversion remainder or ?/taury of and in the said messuages
lands heredits
and premises moneys Estate and effects to enable him his heirs
Executors
admors and assigns to complete the conveyances to the
several persons
who have to as aforesaid agreed to purchase the same or
their
respective heirs or assigns and I do hereby declare and
direct that the
receipt and con?? Of the said William Shayle his
heirs or
assigns
shall be a
complete and effectual discharge to the said several and
purchasers of
the said shares of the said heredits and premises and
that they nor
either of them shall be obliged to see to the application of
the purchase
money nor be answerable for the misapplication or
nonapplication
thereof and upon further trust that they my said
father William Shayle
shall and may receive and take the ? profits
and produce of
the whole of the said property and Effects for and during
the term of his
natural life and from after his decease upon Trust
that the
Executors or admrs of the said William Shayle do and shall
pay and apply one
hundred pounds part thereof to my niece Eleanor George
and one hundred
pounds to my nephew Thomas Shayle George
to be paid to
each of them on their arrival at the age of twenty one years
but if that
shall happen in the lifetime of my said father to be postponed
till his death
and the Interest of each sum to be paid to each of them
for their
Education and maintenance if they shall be so under age at the
decease of my
said father and in case either of them shall
die under age
the whole two sums to go to the survivor and
upon further
trust to pay unto Mary Hook now servant to my said
father the sum
of five pounds to be paid to her in three months
next after my
decease if she shall be then in his service as to all and
singular the
rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects of what
nature or kind
soever whether in possession reversion remainder or
exportuary to
which I shall be so entitled at the time of my decease I
give devise and
bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my said father
William Shayle
his Heirs Executors Admors and assigns and I do
hereby nominate
and appoint him sole Executor of this my will In witness
whereof I have
to this my last will and testament set my hand and
seal this
fourth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred

presence and in
the presence of each other have here unto set our hands
