            In the name of God Amen this is the last Will and Testament of me Samuel Rosser of Cwrt Robert in the parish of Cwmcarvan in the County of Monmouth yeoman.  First I direct that all my just debts funeral expences and the charges of proving this my Will may be fully paid and satisfied and subject to the payment thereof I give and devise all that my freehold messuage and lands in which I now dwell and occupy commonly called or known by the name of Cup Robert unto my son in law and daughter James Rosser and Mary Rosser for and during the term of their joint natural lives and from and immediately after their decease I give and devise the same unto my grandson Ezra Rosser his heirs and assigns for ever but it is my will and meaning that my grandson Ezra Rosser shall immediately upon his coming into possession of the said premises pay  unto his brother and sister the sum of ten pounds each and if in case my said daughter Mary Rosser should have any other child or children either in my life time or after my decease then it is my will that my said grandson Ezra Rosser shall immediately upon such child or children attaining the age of twenty one years or upon my said grandson coming into possession of the said messuage and premises pay unto them the said sum of ten pounds each the same as if they were now born.  I also give and bequeath unto my grand daughter Eleanor my pewter dishes and two brass kettles.  I also give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my live and dead stock and all my household furniture unto my said son in law and daughter James Rosser and Mary Rosser for and during their joint natural lives and from and after their decease the same to be divided between my said grand children share and share alike, and I appoint my said son in law James Rosser sole executor of this my Will hereby revoking all others by me heretofore made and I declare this to be my last Will and Testament.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this second day of January one thousand eight hundred and twenty six.    The mark of Samuel (Sam) Rosser

 

Signed sealed published and declared by the said testator Samuel Rosser as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto  …? 6th day of January 1826.  James Rosser the sole executor in this Will named was duly sworn as such and that the goods chattels and credits of the deceased are under the value of forty pounds, before me Hugh Williams, Surrogate

 

In the Consistory Court of Llandaff. In the Goods of   Mr Samuel Rosser  deceased,

 

Appeared Personally  James Rosser  of the parish of  Cwmcarvan on the County of  Monmouth, labourer the sole Executor named in the last Will and Testament of the said Samuel Rosser late of Cross Robert in the parish of  Cwmcarvan aforesaid yeoman deceased, who died on the fourth day of January instant and made Oath that the Estate and Effects of the said deceased, for and in respect of which a Probate of the said Will is to be granted, exclusive of what the said deceased may have been possessed of or entitled to as a Trustee for any other Person or Persons, and not beneficially, and without deducting any thing on account of the Debts due and owing from the said deceased, are under the value of  forty Pounds, to the best of this Deponent’s knowledge, information, and belief.  And  lastly made Oath that the said deceased did not die possessed of any Leasehold Estate or Estates for years, either absolute or determinable, on a life or lives to the best of this Deponent’s knowledge, information and belief.  The mark of James (X) Rosser
