William Rosser of Llanover 1823.

 

In the name of God Amen, I William Rosser of the Parish of Lanover, Lower Division, in the County of Monmouth and Diocese of Landaff, carpenter, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound and perfect mind and memory, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say, First I desire to be buried in a decent Christian manner at the discretion of my executrix herein after named and appointed.

My temporal estate and property I bequeath and dispose of in manner and form following; Imprimis, I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Catherine Rosser, all that my freehold estate messuage and tenement which I now occupy and live in together with the work shop, out buildings, garden and orchard there unto belonging or appertaining and also the house and garden adjoining being part of the same premises, now in the occupation of Alice Powel, widow, and John Powel her son, situate lying and being in the afore said parish of Lanover Lower in the County of Monmouth. To have and to hold to her the said Catherine Rosser, my beloved wife, her heirs and assigns for ever.

Item All the rest residue and remainder of my estate, tools of every kind and description, to me belonging or appertaining, timber, goods, chattels, bonds, wills, with all other properties to me belonging or appertaining of what kind or nature soever the same may be, I give and bequeath to my aforesaid beloved wife Catherine Rosser whom I constitute and appoint the sole executrix of this my last will and testament: And I do hereby utterly revoke, disallow and make void all former wills, bequests and legacies … in any wise left or made, declaring, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three.. William Rosser.
