In the name of God Amen I Samuel Rosser of the parish of Langovon in the County of Monmouth, labourer, being sick and weak in body but of sound mind, memory and understanding thanks be to Almighty God, therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointing for all men once to die, do make, publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First I will that all my just debts and funeral expences be fully paid and satisfied.
Item I give and bequeath unto my brother John Rosser of the same parish and County aforesaid the sum of one guinea to be paid him by my executor hereafter named at the end of a whole twelve months after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto my brother Theophilus Rosser of the parish of Treleck a cow and calf and a loose great coat which are in his possession at present. Item I give and bequeath unto William Roberts junr of the parish of Langoven one ewe and lamb, to be deliverd at the discretion of my executor after my decease.
Item I give and bequeath unto my natural brother Thomas Rosser whom I also constitute, appoint and ordain my only and sole executor of this my last will and testament my mare, two cows and twenty three sheep that are on halves at my brother John Rossers, also I give him eighteen sheep that are on halves at James Gunters. Also I give him seven sheep that are likewise at William Rogerss, together with all my wearing apparrel, household furniture, moveables, money in whose hands, possession or custody soever any part thereof can or may be found remaining and all other whatsoever to me appertaining and not herein mentiond I give and bequeath unto him, by him freely to be possessd and enjoyd and I do hereby utterly revoke and disannul all former wills and testaments by me heretofore made, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this leventh day of October in the year 1757. December the 8th 1757. Thomas Rosser the brother and sole executor in this will named was sworn well and faithfully to execute the same, to exhibite an inventary &c and to render an acct &c and also made oath that the assetts of the said deceased would not amount to twenty pounds, before me, Nathl Wells, Surrogate
This will was proved at Landaff on the eighth day of December in the year of our Lord 1757 before the Reverend Mr Nathaniel Wells, Clerk, Master of Arts, the Chancellors Surrogate, by Thomas Rosser the brother and sole executor in this will named who was first on the holy Evangelists personally sworn well and faithfully to execute the same to exhibite an inventary &c and to render a just account of his administration thereof when thereunto lawfully required
