The Will of Mr Jenkin Rosser
The last will and testament of me Jenkin Rosser of the parish of Goytre in the county of Monmouth Yeoman eldest son and heir of John Rosser late of the same place Yeoman by Anne his wife formally Anne Richards spinster / both deceased, being of sound mind memory and understanding
I give and devise such parts of all that my messuages tenement or dwelling house wherein my Grandfather James Rosser did in his life time dwell and in which I now reside, Also all that water corn Grist & Mill with the barns buildings Closes of lands and other premises to the said messuages belonging with their respective appurlenances situate lying and being in the several parishes of Goytre and Llanover or one of them in the said county, Also of all that one barn one Curtillage and several [closes] of land thereunto belonging and situated in or near the parish of Llanellen in the said county, as are now in my own friends Francis Davies of the parish of Llanvair Kilgeddin in the said County farmer and Aaron Harris who resides on the east side of the turnpike road in the parish of Mamhilad in the said county and their heirs until the twenty fifth day of December next after my desease the better to enable them to carry the trusts of this my will into effect, with respect to my personal estate and for the benefit of the persons entitled thereto and from and after the said twenty fifth day of December I give and devise the said parts and from and after the said hereditaments and premises unto my son John Rosser his heirs and assigns for ever- I give and devise all such parts hereditaments and premises as are in the possession of the said John Rosser unto him the said John Rosser his heirs and Assigns forever, subject unto and liable with the payment of the sum of three hundred pounds secured by mortgage thereof together with all interest due and to become due for the same and also to the funeral and testamentary expenses, andI do hereby as far as I lawfully can or may exonerate free and discharge all my personal estate of and from payment of the said principal sum and the interest thereof, and also of my funeral and testamentary expenses, I give and devise all those messuages Tenements or dwelling houses with the lands hereitaments and premises which I purchased of James Jones and situated in the said parish of Llanover unto my son Thomas Rosser his heirs and assignes forver I give and bequeath all my household stuff and furniture also all my living and dead stock Goods Chattels personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever situated unto the said Francis Davies and Aaron Harris Upon trust that they the said Francis Davies and Aaron Harries and the survivor of them his executors and Administrators do and shall with all convenient.

speed after my decease sell and dispose by public auction all my said Household Stuff furniture Stock Goods chattels and effects and after payment of all costs charges and expenses attending the sale and of the said trustees in the execution of the trusts hereby in them reposed upon trust to divide and pay the residue of the monies to be produced by such sale amoungst and unto my five children, that is to say, James Rosser, Elizabeth the wife of John Herbert, Ann the wife of Seth . Williams, Mary Rosser and Margaret Rosser in equal shares and proportions, I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said Francis Davies and Aaron Harris joint executors \ In trust of this my will (the whole whereof is contained in two sheets of paper\ subscribed my name and to the second and last sheet my name and set my seal this twenty fourth . Day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six.

APPEARED Personally Frances Davies of Lawain in the county of Monmouth and Aaron Harris of the parish of Mamhilad in the County of Monmouth the -------
Executors named in the will and testament ------- of the said Jenkin Rosser of the parish of Goytre in the County of Monmouth Yeoman ------- deceased, who died on the eleventh of January and made Oath that the Estate and Effects of the said deceased, for and in respect of which a Probate of the said Will -------- is to be granted, exclusive of what the said deceased may have been possessed of or entitled to as a trustee for any other person or persons and not beneficially ----------
And without deducting any thing on account of the debts due and owing from the said deceased, are under the value of One hundred Pounds to the best of these deponents knowledge information and belief. And they lastly made oath that the said deceased did not die possessed of any Leasehold Estate or Estates for years, either absolute or determinable on a life or lives, to the best of this deponents knowledge information and belief.
