In the name of God Amen the ninth day of July according to the computacon of the Church of England one thousand six hundred ninety & six I Joan Richard alias Morgan of the pish of Goytrey in the County of Monmouth wthin the Diocess of Landaff being sick in body but of good and perfect memory thanks be to Almighty God doe make constitute ordayne and declare this my last will & testam’t in maner and forme following revoking by these p’sents all and ev’y former will or wills heretofore by me made and declared either by word or by writeing. And this to be taken only for my last will and testamt and none other. And first being penitent and sorry for my sins most humbly begging pardon & forgiveness for the same I give and comitt my soule unto Almighty God my Saviour and Redeemer in whome by the meritts of Jesus Christ I trust and believe assuredly to be saved and to have full remission and forgiveness of all my sins. And now for the settleing of my tempoarall estate and such goods as it hath pleased God far above my de…? to bestow upon me I doe order give and dispose the same in maner and forme following vizt First I …? …? debts and funerall charges shall be paid and discharged. Ite I give and bequeath towards my funerall expences the sume of tenn pownds to be paid by my executors hereafter named. Ite I give and bequeath unto Jane & Gwenllian the daughters of David Beevan of Goytrey the sume of forty pownds to be equally divided between them and paid by my executrix wthin the space of two yeares next after my decease towards the use of the said Jane & Gwenllian to be sett out by my executor all the best advantages for ye use of the said Jane & Gwenllian. Ite I give and bequeath unto Charles Morgan of Lang’ell jux Uske the sone of Wm Morgan of Goytrey the sume of tenn pownds to be paid wthin the space of two yeares next after my decease. Ite I give & bequeath unto Jane the wife of David Beevan of Goytrey the sume of tenn pownds to be paid wthin the space of fower yeares next after my decease. Ite I give and bequeath unto Gwenllian the wife of William Morgan William of Goytrey the sume of twenty shillings. Ite I give unto Anne the wife of Wm Watkin Thomas of Goytrey & her sone Richard the sume of one pownd to be equally divided between them. Ite I give unto Jon Watkin Thomas, Andrey Morgan, Jenkin William & Jane Rosser of Goytrey the sume of one pownd to be equally divided between them. Ite I give unto Jane the wife of David Beevan of Goytrey all my wearing apparell. All the rest and residue of my personall estate goods & chattels whatsoever I give and bequeath unto William Morgan of the pish of Goytrey whome I constitute name and appointe full and sole executor of this my last will and testam’t. In witness whereof I the said Joan Richard alias Morgan to this my last will and testam’t sett my hand & seale the day and yeare aforesd. And in the eighth yeare of the Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord William the Third King of England &c. The mark of the testatrix Joan Richard alias Morgan.
