In the name of God Amen I Hopkin Reece of the pish of Peneclauth in ye County of Monmouth, yeom, being of sound and perfect memory praise bee therefore given to Almighty God, doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) first and principally I commend my soul into ye hands of Almighty God hopeing through ye meritts, death and passion of my saviour Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins and to inheritt everlasting life and my bodey I committ to ye earth to bee decently buried at ye discretion of my executrix hereafter named and as touching ye disposeing of all such temporall estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon mee I give and bequeath thereof as followeth.
First I will that my debts and funerall expences bee paid and discharged. Item I give and bequeath all that part of my house I now live in together with my lower garden and allsoe one part of ye upper garden to my loving wife dureing her life and allso I give and bequeath to her all my goods of what nature or kind soe ever that I now am or ever shall bee possessed of in as full large and ample manner as I my selfe enjoyed the same. And it is my further will and pleasure that my house, gardens and goods after the decease of my wife bee given to my daughter Elizabeth who I doe appoint to bee sole executrix of this my last will and testament. And I doe hereby revoke, disanull and make void all former wills and testaments by me heretofore made.
