I Henry Probert of Argard in the parish of Penallt and County of Monmouth Esquire being sick in body but of sound and perfect memory thanks be to almighty God and considering the uncertainty of this life have thought fit to make this my last will in manner and form following. First I commit my soul to the hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping through the merits of Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer to have remisson of all my sins and as to my worldly affairs I dispose as follows. First I charge all my real estate with the sume of one thousand pounds to be paid by my three sisters vizt Elizabeth Morgan, Rachel Clifford and Eleanor Morgan out of their respective shares of my estate to my loving wife Hester Probert in three months after my decease. Item I give and bequeath to my sister Elizabeth Morgan and her children ten pounds each to buy them mourning. Item I give to my sister Rachel Clifford and her children ten pounds each to buy them mourning. Item I give to my sister Eleanor Morgan ten pounds to buy her mourning. Item I give to Sr Roger Hill and his Lady, to my brother Roger Hill and his lady, to my sister Edwin and Miss Lockey ten pounds each to buy them mourning. Item I give to Mr Charles Whitson the sume of ten pounds. Item I give to my servant James Richards the sume of ten pounds. Item I giveto my servant Thomas Roberts the sume of ten pounds. Item I give to my servant Elizabeth Evans the sume of ten pounds and twenty shillings apeice each covenant servant that shall be with me at the time of my decease. Item I give twenty pounds to the poor of the parish of Penant and twenty twenty pounds to the poor of the parish of Trelleck in three months after my decease. Item I give to Mr Mathew Powel and his wife ten pounds each to buy them mourning. Item I give to my cousin Rachel Wind Ten pounds to buy her mourning. Item I give to Elizabeth Wind The sume of ten pounds and five pounds each to Lina and Rachel Wind Item I give to Mary Rogers wife of William Rogers and Sarah her daughter both of the parish of Telleck the Penarth House and Farm or in liou thereof the sume of two hundred and fifty pounds either of which to be at the discretion of my executor. Item I give to William Blower of Monmouth, gaoler five pounds. Item I give and bequeath all the estate formerly given me by my cousin Henry Probert of Monmouth and which I now possess to my two nephews Francis Jenkins and Thomas Clyfford and to the survivor of them, but in case my personal estate shall fall short of the legacies here given my will is that such deficiency shall be made out by the disposall of part of the estate given to my nephews Francis Jenkins and Thomas Clyfford, lastly I do nomonate and appoint my brother in law Thomas Clyfford of Newport, Gent, to be the sole executor of this my will.
