In the name of God Amen, I William Powell of the pish of Comcarvan, dissese of Landafe and County on Monmoth, yeoman, doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme following vizt. First I give and bequeth my soule into the hands of God allmightie hopeing by the death and passion of my saviour he wilbe marcifully to my soule. And I doe bequeth my bodie to the earth to be decently buried by executors here under named. And as to such temporall estate, goods, catles and chatels wch my Lord God hath been pleased to bestow upon me I dispose in maner and forme following vizt:
I doe hereby give and bequeth all and singular my goods, catles, chatles and all other debts and dues that is due to me to my welbeloved cousin Christopher Morgan and Wm James whome I nominate to be my executors of this my last will and testament. And my will and pleasure is that what ever goods, catles or other --? Wch shall or may be owd? And above the payment of my due debt I give and dispose of equally to be devided between my sd executors. In wittness whereof I have here unto sett my marck or signed? To the s--? Hereof the eleventh day of May in the year of our Lord God sixteen hundred nintie fower.
