I John Nicholas of the parish of Cwmcarvan in the County of Monmouth, Gentleman, being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First I will and direct that my just debts, funeral expences and the charge of proving this my will be in the first place paid and discharged and after payment thereof I give, devise and bequeath unto my dear wife Mary Nicholas all that my estate called Ty Vry in the said parish of Cwmcarvan to hold to her and her assigns untill my son William shall attain the age of twenty five years and when and as soon as my said son William shall attain the age of twenty five years then I give, devise and bequeath the said estate called Ty Vry to my said son William his heirs and assigns for ever subject and lyable nevertheless to the payment of a legacy of fifty pounds which I do hereby give and bequeath to my daughter Ann to be paid to her when and as soon as she shall attain the age of twenty one years and I do hereby charge the said estate with the payment thereof. Also I give, devise and bequeath to my said wife all that my messuage, tenement farm lands and premises in the parish of Lanvair in the said County of Monmouth now in the possession of William Gregory to hold to my said wife and her assigns untill my son John shall attain the age of twenty one years and when as as soon as my said son shall attain his said age of twenty one years then I give, devise and bequeath the said last mentioned messuage tenement farm lands and premisses to my said son John his heirs and assigns for ever subject and lyable to the payment of a legacy of fifty pounds which I do hereby give and bequeath to my daughter Mary to be paid to her when and as soon as she shall attain the age of twenty one years and I do hereby charge the said last mentioned messuage tenement farm lands and premisses with the payment thereof and all the rest and reside of my estate and effects of what nature or kind soever I give, devise and bequeath to my dear wife Mary subject to the payment of a legacy of twenty pounds to my sister Ann Nicholas given and bequeathed to her by the will of my uncle Walter Nicholas and which legacy the said lands in Lanvaid are charged with the payment of by the said Walter Nicholass will and I do appoint my said wife sole executrix of this my will hereby revoking all former wills by me made and I do declare this to be my last will and testament. This will was proved at Abergavenny on the fourteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty six before the Reverend Mr Nathaniel Wells, Clerk, Master of Arts, the Chancellors Surrogate, by Mary Nicholas, widow, the relict and sole executrix in this will named who was first on the holy Evangelists sworn well and faithfully to execute the same, to exhibite an inventary &c and to render a just account of her administration thereof when thereunto lawfully required
