Aaron Morris of Mamhilad.

In the name of God Amen I Aaron Morris of the Parish of Mamhilad and County of Monmouth in the Diocess of Landaff, being weak in body, but of sound and perfect memory thanks be to God. Do make and ordain this my last will and testimony in manner and form following (that is to say) First and principally I commend my soul to the hands of Almighty God my creator and redeemer hopeing throug the merits of Jesus Christ to obtaine pardon and remission for all my sins and inheritt everlasting life: and my body I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executrix hearafter mentioned. And as to my wordly goods and temporal estate that God hath bestowed upon me, I devise and dispose thereof as followeth. First I give to my dearly beloved wife Rachel Morris all my estate scituate in Mamhilad in the Lordship of Abergavenny and Mannor of Parkllettice dureing her natural life: Provided she continues a widow, or unmary’d if otherwise to the right heir or heiresses. I give to my nephew William Edmond the sum of one pound. I give my niece Margaret Harry the sum of one pound. And to Mary Roberts the sum of one pound to be paid in three months after my decease. And all the rest of my personal estate money stock cattell and chattell wheresoever I give and bequeath to my loveing wife Rachel Morris. Whom I apoint to be my sole executrix of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal the eighth day of March in the year one thousand seven hundred sixty five. The marke of Aaron Morris

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Aaron Morris the testator to be his last will and testament in presence of us whose names are hereunto subscribed our names as wittnesses thereunto in the presence of us William Morgan; David Williams; Wm Morgan ye younger

October the 11th 1768. Rachael Morris, widow, the relict and sole executrix in this will named was sworn well and faithfully to execute the same, to exhibit an inventory &c and to render an acc’t &c before me Nath Wells, Surrogate

This will was proved at Abergavenny on the eleventh day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty eight before the Revd Nathaniel Wells, Clerk &c, by Rachael Morris, widow, the relict and sole executrix in this will named &c
