In the name of God Amen the eieth daye of March 1678 I Roger Morgan of the parish of Goytre in the County of Monmoth yeoman sicke & weake in body but of good and pfect memory laude & prayse be to Allmighty God and callinge to remembrance the uncertayne estate of this transitory life and that all flesh must yeald unto death when it shall please God to call, doe make ordayne constitute & declare this my last will & testament in maner & forme followinge revoakinge & adnullinge by these psents all and everie testament & testaments will & wills heretofore by me made and declared eyther by word or by writinge, and this is to be taken onely for my last will & testament & none other and fyrst beinge penitent & sory from the bottom of my hart for my sins past, most humbly beseechinge forgivenes for the same I give & comitt my soule unto Allmighty God my saviour & redeemer in whome & by the meritts of Jesus Christ I trust & believe assuredly to be saved and to have full remission & forgivenes of all my sins and that my soule wth my body at the generall daye of resurrection shall rise agayne wth joy and through the meritts of Christs death & passion to possesse & inheritt the kingdome of heaven promised for his ellect & chozen, & my bodie to be buryed in such place where it shall please my executrix heareafter named to appoynt. And now for the setlinge of my temporall estate & such goodes & chattels as it hath pleased God (farr above my defects) to bestowe uppon me I doe give & dispose the same in maner & forme followinge (that is to say) fyrst I will that all those debts & dueties as I owe in right or conscience to any maner of pson or psons whatsoever shalbe well and truly contented & payed or ordayned to be payed in convenient tyme after my decease by my executrix hereafter named. Item I give towarde the reparation of the Cathedrall Church of Landaffe vid. Item I give & bequeath two milch kyne of sevall collors towardes payment of my debts. Item I give & bequeath to my sonn Oliver Morgan one heyffer wthin one yeare next after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Morgan one ewe & lambe at her side wthin sixe monethes next after my decease. Item I give & bequeath unto my granchild Charles Morgan one ewe and lambe wthin sixe monethes next after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto my granchild Jane Morgan one ewe & lambe wthin one half yeare next after my decease. Item I give & bequeath the rest of my goodes cattle & chattles corne & grayne in the house & in the barnes & all my houshould stuffe & implements of houshould unbequeathed unto my lovinge wife Heaster Morgan to her sole & proper use & behooffe towardes her livelyhood & mayntenance, lastly I doe nominate & appoynt the said Heaster my wife to be sole executrix of this my last will and testament. In wittnes whereof I have heare unto put my hand & seale the daye and yeare fyrst above written.
