In the name of God Amen. I John Morgan of the Town and parish of Trelleck in the County of Monmouth. farmer, being in health and of sound mind, memory and understanding, but yet considering the uncertainty of this transitory lift do make, publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following: That is to say; first of all, I recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it, and my body to buried in the earth in a Christian-like and decent manner at the discretion of my executrix herein after named and as to such worldly goods and effects as it bath pleased God to bless me with, of what kind or denomination soever they be. I give and bequeath the same unto my dear and beloved wife Anne Morgan and her heirs, namely my personal estate, stock. Household goods and all whatsoever else to me appertaining. the better to enable her to pay all rents due, servants wages and all other my just debts and funeral expenses; and I do hereby nominate and appoint my said wife Anne Morgan, only and sole executrix of this my last wilt and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me heretofore made. 20th June 1763. Anne Morgan, widow, the relict and sole executrix in this will named was sworn well and faithfully to execute the same, to exhibit an inventory &c & to render an acct &c and also made oath that the assets of the said deceased would not amount to twenty pounds before me Nath Wells, surrogate.
This will was proved at Bergavenny on the twentieth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty three, before the Reverend Mr Nathaniel Wells. Clerk, Master of Arts, the Chancellors surrogate, by Anne Morgan. Widow, the relict and sole executrix in this will named who was first on the holy Evangelists personally sworn well and faithfully to execute the same, to exhibit an inventory &c and to render a just account of her administration thereof when thereunto lawfully required
