In the name of God Amen, I Alice Meredith of the parish of Lanellen in the County of Monmouth and within the Diocess of Landaffe widd being sick in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory, praise be therefore given to Almighty God; do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) first and principally I comend my soul into the hands of Almighty God, hopeing through the meritts death and passion of my saviour Jesus Christ, to have full and free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins and to inherit everlasting life. And my body I comitt to the earth, to be decently buried att the discretion of my executors hereafter named. And as touching the disposition of all such temporall estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as follows.
Imp: I will that my debts and funerall charges shall be paid and discharged.
Item I give and bequeath unto four children of my brother Watkin Jenkin (vizt) William Watkin, Watkin Watkin, Joan Watkin and Alice Watkin the sume of twenty pounds to be equally divided between them when they and either of them shall attain the age of one and twenty yeares with the lawfull interest due thereupon.
Item I give and bequeath unto Katherine John my maid servant, one feather bed whereon I now ly with the bed cloathes thereunto belonging.
Item I give and bequeath unto Joan Watkin daughter of my brother Watkin Jenkin one chaffe bed with the bed cloathes thereunto belonging and the least of the two brass panns.
Item I give and bequeath unto Alice Watkine daughter of my brother Watkine one feather bed with the bed cloathes thereunto belonging and the largest brass pann.
All the rest and residue of my personall estate goods and chattells whatsoever I do give and bequeath unto my loving kinsman Richard Jenkins of Lanellen and Jenkin Richard of Lanover in the said County of Monmouth whom I do nominate and appoint joynt executors of this my last will and testament, and I do hereby revoke disanull and make void all former wills and testaments by me heretofore made. In wittnesse whereof I the said Alice Meredith to this my last will & testament have sett my hand and seale ye 28th day of July Ao Dni 1716. The marke of the said Alice Meredith.
