            The last Will and Testament of me Matthew Jones of the parish of Cwmcarvan in the County of Monmouth farmer.  I give and bequeath unto my wife Margaret Jones one feather bed with its appurdages.  I also give and bequeath unto my friends James Jones of Croft-y-Lloy blacksmith and Walter Nicholas of Cwmcarvan aforesaid farmer all the residue of my personal estate whatsoever upon trust to sell the live and dead stock and other effects as soon as conveniently may be after my decease and after such sale and the payment of my just debts to place all the money arising from such sale together with the other money which I may die possessed of out at interest and to pay the annual interest of such monies to my said wife for her life provided she shall continue my widow and from having no child and I direct that my wife shall breed up and support our son William Jones and after the decease or intermarriage of my said wife I give all my said personal estate unto my said son William Jones to be paid to him at the age of twenty one years but if my wife should die or intermarry before my said son should attain that age then I direct my said trustees to take care of my said son and apply as much of the annual interest of my said estate as may be necessary to support clothe and educate him until he attains that age.  And I hereby appoint the said James Jones and Walter Nicholas executors of this my last Will and Testament.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the sixth day of July one thousand eight hundred and twenty six.  Matthew Jones.

 

Signed sealed published and declared by the testator Matthew Jones as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names at witnesses thereto.  Witness Edward Prichard;  the marke of Mathew (X) Williams

 

            23rd day of March 1827.  James Jones and Walter Nicholas the joint executors in this Will named were duly sworn as such and that the goods chattles and credits of the decease are under the value of two hundred pounds before me Hugh? Williams, Surrogate
