In the name of God Amen the second day of January in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred sixty and six I William Lucas of Lanthomas in the County of Monmoth, yeoman, being of good and pfect memory and --? --? In my health time thankes be given to Almighty God doe ordaine and make my last will and testament in manor and form following. First I comend my soule unto Almighty God my maker and redeemer and my body to be buried within the church of Comcarvan. Item I give toward the Cathedrall Church of Landaff XIId. Item I give to the pson of Comcarvan for my forgotten teithes Xid. Item I give and bequeath to the poore of the pishe of Comcarvan to be distributed amongest them according to the discresion of my executors --en shillings and five shillings towards the repacion of the church of Comcarvan. Item I give and bequeath to Sibill Lucas now --ing wife my now dwelling house with all barnes, stables, out houses, gardens, archards there unto belonging and therwith held occ--? and enjoy --? Also all these severall parsells of medow, pasture, arable and wood land grownd to the said dwelling house belonging --? And therwith nowe heald, occapied and enioyed comonly called and knowne by the severall names of Kay yr Clist? Gurlod new--? yr llayne, and the house therupon newly erected and built y croft and the house therin or ther upon newly erected and built and the grone y kay gwmy sha kay pulle hirion gwern y barkit kay back kay gwin y cha keven y kay gwin all which said pcells ate scituat and being in Lanthomas and Comcarvan afforesaid in the said County of Monmoth by meares and markes theof old time well known and --? --? And now in the tenure and possession of me the said William Lucas and my assignes to have and to hould the said dwelling house with all and every the premises afforesaid with all and every theire appurtenances unto the said Sibill Lucas my now wife and her assignes for and during her naturall life and after her decease I give and bequeath the afforesaid howses, barnes, barnes, stables and all other out howses, archards, gardens therunto belonging and therwith held, occupied and enioyed as also all the severall parsells of meadow, pasture, erable, wood land, grownd to the dwelling house belonging comonly called and knowne by the severall names of kay y clist grewd? Newith halfe? the llayne and the grone?, Kay gwin, sha kay pulle hirion gwene, barkit kay bach kay gwin ycha keven y kay gwin all the which said parsells are in Lanthomas and Comcarvan afforesd and Countey afforsaid by meares and markes therof ould time well knowne I give and bequeath to Lucas James my grand son, his heires and assignes forever and the heires of his body lawfully to be begotton forever to have and to hould the said dwelling house with all other the premisses to him the said Lucas and the heires of his body lawfully to be begotten for ever and for want of such issue I give and bequeath the said dwelling house the premises to William the second son of James John David and the heires of his body lawfully to be begotten for ever to have and to hould the said dwelling house with all other the premises to him the said second of the said James John David and the heires of his body lawfully to be begotten for ever and for want of such issue I give and bequeath the said dwelling house and all other the premises to John the third son of James John David of Trelleck and his heires and the heires of his body lawfully to be begotten for ever to have and to hould the said dwelling house and all other the premises to him the said John and the heires of his body lawfully to be begotten for ever and for want of such issue I give and bequeath the said dwelling house and all other the premises unto Isaack the fowrth son of the said James John David and the heires of his body lawfully to be begotten for ever and for want of such issue I give & bequeath the said dwelling and all other the premises to Margaret and Mary the daughters of the said James John David and theire heires and assignes forever and all other the premises to them the said Margarett and Mary the daughters of the said James John David and theire heires for ever except the croft and the house there upon erected and built and halfe the llayne I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary and to the heires of her body lawfully begotten or to be begotten and for want of such issue I give and bequeath croft and llayne being the on halfe of ye parsell called y layne unto Lucas and his heires for ever provided never the lesse that I doe give and bequeath to my daughter Mary forty pownds of good and lawfull money of England to be paid by the said Lucas James my grand son or his heires or assignes within the space of five yeares after the deceasse of the longest liver of me William Lucas or Sibill my wife and of which said sum of forty pownds I apoint Lucas James to pay eyght pounds within a yeare after the decease of the longest liver of us both and eyght pounds every yeare untill the forty pounds be fully satisfied and paid, and if ir happen that my daughter Mary shall decease before the payment of the said then my will is the said Lucas James shall pay the said moneies unto the lawfull heires of my daughter Mary when they shall come to theire full age to give acquitance for the said somes of money. Item I give and bequeath all and all maner of my goods & chattells? and cattels, houshold stuffe, implements of husbandry, corne in the barne, in the house, in the filds, in the reckes and all other? my goods moveable and unmoveable within the house or whersoever to Sibill my now wife and I do hereby nominate, declare and appoint my said wife Sibill Lucas to be the sole and only executrix of this my last will and testament.
