Thomas Lewis of Llanvaches 1818

In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Lewis of the parish of Lanvaches in the County of Monmouth. yeoman, being of sound mind, memory and understanding (praised be God for the same) do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) I give and devise all my real estate unto my dear wife Catherine Lewis, her heirs and assigns for ever. I also give and bequeath unto my said wife Catherine Lewis her executors administrators and assigns all and singular my goods, chattels, personal estate and effects of what nature or kind soever. And I do hereby constitute and appoint my said wife Catherine Lewis sole executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all other will and wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the thirtieth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eight. Thomas Lewis

Catherine Lewis of the Parish of Llanvaches in the County of Monmouth, widow, the executix named in the last Will and Testament of the above names Thomas Lewis late of the parish of Lanvaches in the County of Monmouth who died on the BLANK day of November 1818 maketh oath that she bath made diligent search and due enquiry and in respect of the personal estate and effects of the said deceased, in order to ascertain the full amount and value thereof; and that to the best of her knowledge, information and belief, the whole of the goods, chattles, and credits, of which the said deceased died, possessed within the Diocese of Landaff, (exclusive of what the deceased may have been possessed of, or entitled to as a trustee for any other person or persons, and not beneficially, but including the leasehold estates for years of the deceased, whether absolute or determinable on Lives, and without deducting any thing on account of the debts due and owing from the deceased), are under the value of four hundred and fifty pounds.
