I Henry Lewis of the parish of Trevethin in the County of Monmouth and Diocess of Llandaff but reciding now in the parish of Shirenewton in the County and Diocess aforesaid being sick in body, but of a sound and perfect memory, thanks be to the Lord for the same, do make and ordain this my last will and testament as followeth. I do give and bequeath to my unckle Thomas Lewis my brothers wearing apparel having been lately deceased. I do also give & bequeath to my aunt Martha Thurston 5/-. I do also give & bequeath to my aunt Mary Spencer 5/-. I do also give and bequeath to my well beloved friend Hannah Morgan all my money, goods, cattles and chattles whatsoever I am possesed of wherever they may be found, whom I do also nominate and appoint to be my sole executrix of this my last will and testament as wittness my hand and seal this 30th day of ye 12th mth (called 10ber) 1765. I Hannah Morgan do solemnly, sincerely and truly affirm and declare that I am a dissenter from the Church of England, commonly called a Quaker, and that I believe this paper writing to be and contain the true last will and testament of Henry Lewis deceased, and that I am the sole executrix therein named, and that I will well and truly perform the same by paying first his debts, and then the legacies contained in the said will, as far as his goods, chattles and credits will thereto extend, and the law bind me, and that I will bring in an inventory of the same goods, chattles and credits of the said deceased, and pass a just account of my executrixship when lawfully required so to do. This will was proved at Landaff on the fifteenth day of January in the year of our Lord 1766, before the Reverend Mr Nathaniel Wells, Clerk, Master of Arts, the Chancellors Surrogate, by Hannah Morgan (one of the dissenters from the Church of England commonly called Quakers) the sole executrix in this will named who did solemnly, sincerely and truly affirm and declare according to Act of Parliament in that case made and provided that she would well and truly execute the same exhibite an inventary &c and render a just account of her administration &c when thereunto lawfully required
