In the Name of God Amen ~

I William Leonard of the Parish of Bassalleg in the County of Monmouth Farmer being of sound mind and memory do make constitute and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say ~

I give, devise, and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Ann all that my Copyhold Estate situate in the said parish of Bassalleg and County of Monmouth together with the Messuages and Buildings thereon erected commonly called or known by the name of Griffin and to her heirs and assigns for ever – And also I give devise and bequeath unto my said beloved Wife all that my leasehold Estate situate in the parish of Trevethin commonly called Cefn-y-crib and to her heirs and assigns for ever – I also give and bequeath unto my said beloved Wife all and singular my live and dead farming Stock chattles and Credits monies and securities for money of what nature or kind so ever to me belonging freely to be enjoyed by her for ever except my Clock in oak case which I give and bequeath at the decease of my said Wife unto Mary Matthews the daughter of Richard Matthews for ever – And I do hereby nominate constitute and

appoint my said beloved Wife Ann to be Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Sixth day of August One thousand Eight hundred and thirty eight
