Roger Keene of Penhow 1830.

This is the last will and testament of me Roger Keene of Penhow in the County of Monmouth Gentleman whereby I dispose of my estate and effects in manner following – that is to say, I give and bequeath all my personal estate of what nature and kind soever unto my dear wife Ann Keene during the term of her natural life or until she marries again which ever shall first happen and after her decease or second marriage I give and bequeath all my silver plate unto and equally between my five daughters and my household goods and furniture, linen and china unto and equally between my eight children Ann, Amey, Elizabeth, John, Richard, Mary, Cecilia and Benjamin share and share alike (and unto my son Reece I give and bequeath two hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid unto him his heirs or assigns in twelve months after my decease And all and singular the residue and remainder of my said personal estate unto and equally between my eight children Ann, Amey, Elizabeth, John, Richard, Mary, Cecilia and Benjamin share and share alike) I give and devise all that my estate called Ty Pwlth situate in the parish of Witson in the said County of Monmouth unto my said dear wife Ann Keene and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life unless she marries again and from and immediately after her decease or second marriage whichever shall first happen I give and devise the same unto my eight children Ann, Amey, Elizabeth, John, Richard, Mary, Cecilia and Benjamin their heirs and assigns as tenants in common and not as joint tenants. And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said dear wife Ann Keene sole executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty. Roger Keene
