Mary Keene of Whitson 1764.

I Mary Keene wife of Charles Keene of the parish of Whitson in the County of Monmouth Gentleman do by vertue of the power and authority given and reserved to me by my said husband make and ordain this my last will and testament. First I recommend my soul to God hoping to be saved through the merits of my blessed redeemer Jesus Christ and my body to the earth to be decently interred. I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Ann Keene all my ready money at interest or otherwise and all my personal estate goods cattle stock and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and I hereby nominate and appoint Allen Lord of --? Esqr and Henry Morgan of Caerleon Gentleman to be executors in trust of this my will for the use and benefit of my said daughter and to be guardians of my said daughter during her minority to be allowed such necessary expences as they shall be put unto out of my said personal estate. In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal the seventeenth day of February 1762. the mark of Mary Keene

Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said Mary Keene as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us who in her presence and in the presence of each other and at her request have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto. Lewelyn Thomas; Thomas Cox

This will was proved at Caerleon on the fifteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty four before the Revd Mr Nathaniel Wells, &c by Henry Morgan, one of the executors in this will named &c &c. Power being first reserved to Allen Lord Esqr the other executor in this will named when he applys for the same
